Paper Plate Ghosts
When it comes to kid’s crafts, it doesn’t get much easier than this paper plate ghost! Since there’s no painting or building involved, it’s perfect for toddlers and preschoolers.

And while your kids are going to love how easy it is to put together, you’re going to love the super short supply list for this craft! All you need to make your own paper plate ghosts is:
- Paper plates: White paper plates are a must when making your own ghost craft at home. We used small dessert plates for our ghosts, but any size plate will work when making this easy project.
- White streamers: To turn the paper plate into a flying ghost, you’ll also need some white streamers. If you don’t have any streamers on hand, you can also use tissue paper cut into strips or even toilet paper to make your own ghosts!
- Black marker: Once you have your ghost put together, you’ll need to add a face. With the help of a black marker or black crayons, your kids can easily add their own spooky face to their ghost craft.
How to Make a Paper Plate Ghost
Now that you have all your craft supplies gathered up and ready to go, it’s time to start crafting! Follow these simple instructions for making your own ghost paper plate craft at home today.

Start by grabbing your white paper plate. Flip the plate over so that the bottom of the plate is on the top. Then, draw two eyes and a mount on the center of the plate. You can use a black marker, a black crayon, or black paint to make the face. First draw two filled-in circles for the eyes. Then, draw an open large oval for the mouth.

After that, make the tails for your ghost by cutting strips of streamers. It doesn’t matter how long you make the strips, just make sure they’re all around the same length.
Since streamers are made of very thin paper, your preschooler should be able to easily use their safety scissors to cut the strips on their own.

Once you have five or six streamer strips cut, use your glue to attach them to the back of the ghost. Simply glue them in a line along the bottom of the plate, overlapping the streamers to create an even layer.

- Use different materials for the tails. You can easily swap out the white streamers in this craft for a few different materials, depending on what you have on hand. In addition to streamers, you can also use strips of white construction paper, toilet paper, strips of white tissue paper, or white yarn to make the tails on your ghost.
