Popsicle Stick Spider Web — a Simple Halloween Craft for Kids
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! I really love sharing the fun of Halloween with my kids, which means making simple crafts for kids together! This year, we made a cute popsicle stick spider web. This craft is so much fun and so simple to make — kids of any age will have a blast putting it together. This post contains affiliate links, which means I may earn a commission if you click a link (at no additional cost to you). This popsicle stick spider web turned out so cute, it would make a great Halloween decoration! I love the combination of orange and black popsicle sticks with the orange and black twine. And you get to use up those plastic spiders that come with everything during the Halloween season! This craft is a win-win!
I love that this Halloween craft is not only easy to make, but you only need a few supplies to put it together. You’ll need some small popsicle (craft) sticks, glue, orange and black paint, and twine or string. For our popsicle stick spider web, I used Martha Stewart Craft Paint (because it’s the best!) and some awesome orange and black bake’rs twine.
To start making your popsicle stick spider web, paint a set of popsicle sticks orange and another set of popsicle sticks orange. You’ll need three popsicle sticks per web, so count out how many webs you’re going to make and multiply by three.
After the paint has dried, it’s time to put together the popsicle stick spider web. Place a drop of glue (I used hot glue to hold the sticks together — just watch those little finger with the hot drops of glue) on one of the sticks, then place another stick on top, making an X. Finally, place another drop of glue on top of your X and put the last stick across the middle of the X. Now you have the base for your popsicle stick spider web.
Make the web by wrapping your twine around each end of the popsicle stick. I found it was easier to start in the middle of the web and work our way out to the edges. We wrapped the string around each stick three times to make sure it stays in place and overlaps easily to the stick next to it. When the kids were done making their popsicle stick spider web, I put a drop of glue on the back of each spot the string wrapped around to secure it in place.
And that’s it! Like I said earlier, it’s such a super easy craft — but it’s also super cute! Whether your kids make one or a bunch, I’m sure they’ll have a blast getting into the Halloween spirit with this fun kid’s craft. It also makes a great activity for an easy Halloween party!
