Popsicle Stick Halloween Craft
To turn your plain popsicle sticks into adorable witch hats, you first need to paint them. For this cute craft, we’ll be using black and orange paint. Paint the larger popsicle sticks black and the smaller sticks orange.
When the paint is dry, glue the black sticks together to form the shape of the witch hat. Then glue the orange craft stick along the bottom of the hat to create a decorative stripe along the hat’s brim.
Next, grab your spider web paper to decorate your witch’s hat and make it look a little more spooky. I found this amazing spider web scrapbook paper at Hobby Lobby in the paper section. It looks so great on this fun Halloween craft using popsicle sticks.
Place the witch hat on top of the paper to judge the size you’ll need to cut, then cut a triangle out of the paper. Glue that triangle to the back of the witch hat to add a spooky patter to your popsicle stick craft.
Now it’s time to add some fun decorations to your popsicle stick witch hat! Start by creating a bow with your orange ribbon (found at Dollar Tree).
Glue the glittery ribbon to the side of your witch hat to decorate the bottom of your popsicle stick craft.
Finish by adding a creepy spider on top of your bow. These spiders also came from Dollar Tree. They were spider rings. I just cut the ring part off the bottom of the spider to create a flat surface, making it easier to glue the spiders to the bows.
Tips for Popsicle Stick Witch Hat
Making your own Halloween craft using popsicle sticks at home is so simple! What’s so much fun about this cute craft is that you can easily make it your own! Consider these easy tips to create an amazing popsicle stick witch hat at home with your kids this Halloween season.
Buy pre-painted sticks to skip the mess of painting. If you visit Dollar Tree during the fall season, you can usually find pre-painted popsicle sticks in orange and black. Those are a great choice when making this Halloween popsicle stick craft because you don’t have to worry about your kids making a mess with paint before even starting to put this craft together.
Use whatever type of scrapbook paper you can find. Can’t find spider web scrapbook paper? Don’t worry! Any Halloween design would look amazing on this fun witch hat! You could even grab a piece of orange or black construction paper to add to the back of the hat for a quick fix. Or have your kids create their own fun Halloween design to add to their popsicle stick witch hat.
