Gluten Free Oreo Cookie Treats
Making this simple recipe couldn’t be easier since you don’t have to bake anything. Just mix up the ingredients, let it cool, and cut your treats into squares to enjoy!

The first step to making your Oreo rice krispies treats is to melt the butter and marshmallows. Since this recipe makes a large batch of treats, it’s a good idea to prepare the mixture in a large stock pot on the stovetop.
Start by melting the butter, then add the marshmallows to the pot. Stir the ingredients together and continue stirring until the marshmallows are melted.

When everything is fully melted, remove the pot from the stovetop. Add the rice cereal and crushed gluten free Oreos to the pan and carefully stir to coat the cereal and cookies in marshmallows.

Once all the cereal is coated with marshmallow, transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 baking dish. At this time, you can top the treats with more crushed cookies if you want.

Spread the cereal mixture evenly over the pan, then use your hands to press the mixture firmly together. Continue pressing down on the bars until they’re solid and evenly spread across the pan.
If you find that the treat mixture is sticking to your hands, spray the palms of your hands with nonstick cooking spray. This will help keep the marshmallows from sticking as you’re pressing the bars into place.
Once your treats are solid, let them rest at room temperature for at least two hours to give them time to cool. After that, you can cut the rice crispy treats into bars and serve them.

- Make them in the microwave. If you would prefer to make these treats in the microwave, it’s totally do-able. I would suggest making the treats in two batches to ensure everything gets properly mixed. All you have to do is melt the butter, then add the marshmallows. Cook in 30 second intervals until the marshmallows are melted, stirring between each interval. Then, add the cereal and crushed Oreos to the bowl and stir to mix.
- Skip the gluten free ingredients. If you don’t need the treats to be gluten free, you can easily replace the gluten free Oreos with traditional Oreos and use name brand Rice Krispies cereal to make them.
