Gluten Free Cream Cheese Cookies
To make this easy cream cheese gluten free cokies, you’ll need just a few simple ingredients — the most important being cream cheese. The cheese in this recipe is essential in creating a creamy, delicious cookie.

What I love about these cookies is that you don’t need any special ingredients or homemade flour blends to make them! All you need is gluten free flour. When it comes to learning how to make gluten free cookies, I have found that not any flour will do. I’ve tried several different brands of gluten free flours and I have found the best one is Bob’s Red Mill 1-to-1 Baking Flour by far!
To make these easy gluten free cream cheese cookies, you’ll need:
- Unsalted butter
- Cream cheese
- Egg
- Vanilla extract
- Gluten free baking flour
- Powdered sugar

The first step to making your cream cheese cookies is to beat together the cream cheese and unsalted butter. You can use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the two ingredients until the mixture is creamy and smooth.

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the bowl. Beat the egg into the butter mixture until it’s well combined and smooth.

Add the powdered sugar to the bowl and beat on low to incorporate it into the other ingredients. Make sure not to beat to fast or the powdered sugar will fly out of the bowl and make a mess!

Finish creating the dough by beating in the flour. Start on low to mix the flour into the dough, then turn the speed up and beat until smooth. The dough will be thick when it’s fully blended.

Use a tablespoon or cookie scoop to scoop out the dough and roll it into a ball. Place each dough ball on a parchment paper lined pan and press the cookie dough with the palm of your hand. The cookies don’t rise or spread much, so the size you make them on the cookie sheet will be size of the baked cookies. If you prefer thin cookies, press the dough down more.

Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 15 to 17 minutes. The cookies will be light in color, but you’ll know when they’re done by checking the bottom. When your cream cheese cookies are finished baking, they’ll be golden brown on the bottom.
When the cookies are finished baking, remove them from theh oven and allow them to cool on the pan for around five minutes. After that, transfer them to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.
Place a paper towel or a sheet of parchment paper under the cooling rack to catch the excess powdered sugar. Then, place the powdered sugar in a sifter and dust the top of each cookie with sugar before serving.
Cream Cheese Cookie Recipe Ideas

These easy no bake cookies are a classic Christmas treat that everyone in your family will love! As you prepare these delicious cookies, try these recipe ideas and tips.
- Add some food coloring. These simple cookies are perfect for food coloring. I suggest adding the food coloring after mixing in the powdered sugar. Gel food coloring is a good option for this recipe because you don’t need much to add a nice shade to your cookie dough.
- Make thinner cookies. These cookies don’t rise or spread as they’re baking, so if you want thin cookies, you’ll need to flatten them before you put them in the oven. Simply press your palm down on the cookies until they’re the desired thickness, then pop them in the oven to bake.
- Store at room temperature. While your cookies do contain cream cheese, there’s no reason they need to be refrigerated. That’s because the dough was baked, removing any possibility of contamination from bacteria. You can store your cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.

I’m sorry Barbara! I wasn’t aware of this issue. I’ll have someone look into it and get it fixed! Thanks for letting me know!
What size egg? Should I presume large?
Yes! I used a large egg for this recipe.
Hi, if I want to make exactly half this batch size, how much egg should I use? Just half an egg?
I would still use the full egg. I don’t think the small amount of extra egg will affect the recipe that much.
I have never commented on a recipe before but couldn’t help myself! These are easy to make and oh so delicious. I only made a half batch but wished I would of made a whole one. They are creamy and not to sweet. I did add chopped walnuts and cooked them in my air fryer oven toaster. Finally a gluten free cookie that’s soft and yummy. Thank you for sharing. I’ll be making more soon.
I’m so glad you liked them! I’ll have to try adding some chopped nuts next time I make them!
