Popsicle Stick Snowman Hat
When it comes to making Christmas crafts with your kids, it doesn’t get much easier than this snowman popsicle stick craft! That’s because you can find everything you need to make it at the dollar store!

And while your kids are going to love how easy it is to put together, you’re going to love the super short supply list for this cute snowman craft! All you need to make your own popsicle stick snowman hat ornament is:
- Popsicle sticks: Grab some plain wooden popsicle sticks at the dollar store to make this cute craft. You’ll need a total of nine sticks to make one top hat.
- Black paint: To turn your popsicle sticks into a snowman hat, you’ll need some black paint. Any type of paint will work for this project, but I suggest using acrylic craft paint. It’s great for painting wood, but since it’s non-toxic and washable, it’s perfect for kid’s crafts, too.
- Glue: You can use plain white school glue to put your sticks together, as long as you plan on giving the glue time to dry. If you want to put the craft together more quickly, you can also glue the sticks together with your hot glue gun. Just make sure to supervise your older kids or do the gluing yourself if you’re working with younger kids.
- Ribbon and a sprig of greenery: Decorate your snowman hat with a piece of Christmas ribbon and a small sprig of greenery to finish this cute craft.
How to Make a Popsicle Stick Snowman Hat
Now that you have all your craft supplies gathered up and ready to go, it’s time to start crafting your snowman ornament! Follow these simple instructions for making your own popsicle stick snowman hat at home today.

Start by laying five sticks in an even line on a flat surface to form the top of the hat. Then, place three sticks on top of the five sticks, laying horizontally. Attach the sticks on top with some glue.
If the sticks on the top of your hat start pulling apart or sticking up, you can also cut another popsicle stick in half and glue it to the back of the hat. Place the half stick on top of row of popsicle sticks to secure them all together.

Once your glue has had time to dry, grab your black paint and a paintbrush. Coat the top and bottom of the hat with black paint, making sure to fully cover all the popsicle sticks with paint.

Give your black paint plenty of time to dry, then add your snowman hat decorations to the front. Start by tying a bow with the Christmas ribbon. Then, snip off a small branch of faux greenery.
Attach the piece of greenery to the side of the top hat with some glue, then glue the plaid bow on top.
