These quick cookies can be made with just three simple ingredients! That means they’re perfect for a last-minute treat — whether you’re making desserts for your Halloween party or planning to pass them out to trick or treaters when they visit your house on Halloween night!

To make your own Nutter Butter cookie ghosts, you’ll need:

  • Nutter Butter cookies. These peanut butter cookies are perfect for making ghosts because Nutter Butters have a unique shape! To make this no bake recipe, you can use regular or double stuffed Nutter Butters for this quick recipe.
  • White chocolate chips or white melting chocolate. Turn your Nutter Butters into ghosts with some white chocolate! You can use white chocolate chips, white chocolate bars, white melting chocolate, or even almond bark.
  • Candy eyes. After that, all that’s left to do is finish decorating your ghosts cookies with the help of some candy eyes.

How to Make Nutter Butter Ghost Cookies

You won’t believe how easy these no bake ghost cookies are to make! Since you’re using premade cookies, you don’t even have to turn on your oven to make these cute treats!

The first step to making these no bake Halloween treats is melting your chocolate. If you’re using melting chocolate or almond bark to coat the outside of your ghost cookies, just follow the instructions on the package for melting your chocolate.

If you’re using white chocolate chips, place the chips in a microwave-safe shallow bowl and microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring between each interval. Make sure not to overheat your white chocolate or it will harden and become unusable.

Sometimes, white chocolate can get a little too thick for dipping. If you’re having that issue, add 1/2 a teaspoon of vegetable oil or melted coconut oil to the chocolate and stir to mix. Continue adding more oil in 1/2 teaspoon increments until the chocolate is your desired consistency.

Once the chocolate is melted, dip each cookie in and coat both sides. After the cookie is fully coated, use a fork to lift the covered cookie out of the bowl. Lightly tap the handle of the fork on the side of the bowl to knock off the excess chocolate, then transfer the chocolate covered cookie to a piece of parchment or wax paper to cool and set.

Before the chocolate hardens, press two candy eyes into the top of each cookie to turn them into spooky Halloween ghosts.

On top of being super easy to make, this recipe is also simple to customize. Try these recipe adjustments and additions will help you create a spooky dessert for any Halloween celebration:

  • Try different types of cookies. I like the look of the Nutter Butter cookies thanks to their unique shape. But you could also try different storebought cookies to get the same effct. Try making some Milano cookie ghosts or Oreo ghosts in place of Nutter Butters. Just coat the cookies in chocolate and decorate as described in the recipe to turn any storebought cookie into a mummy for Halloween.
  • Try chocolate chip eyes. Instead of using candy eyes for your ghost cookies, you can use chocolate chips to make this recipe even easier. If you don’t have any candy eyes at home, just flip a chocolate chip upside down to turn it into an eye. Press two chocolate chips into the top of your cookies while the white chocolate is still soft to create some spooky mummies without any special ingredients.
