Make Your Own Christmas Gift in a Mason Jar

Dip the pretzels in chocolate

For this cute Christmas gift in a mason jar, I used homemade chocolate covered pretzels. To make the pretzels, I melted white coating chocolate according to the package instructions, then dipped the pretzels in the chocolate. Let the pretzels set, then put them inside your mason jar.

Glue buttons to Christmas gift in a mason jar

While you’re waiting for your pretzels to set, remove the lid from your jar and paint it with black paint. For my snowman jar, I used black chalk paint because I wanted a rustic look. But spray paint is perfect for painting metal mason jar lids, too.

As you wait for the paint to dry on your lid, add the buttons to the front of your Christmas gift in a mason jar. Before adding the buttons, make sure you find a smooth spot on your jar. If you jar has any embellishments in the glass, make sure to spin it around before adding the glue!

A hot glue gun is the best way to secure the the buttons to the glass jar. The hot glue ensures the buttons will stay stuck but since it drys clear, you won’t see it.

Tie ribbon scarf to snowman gift in a jar

Now it’s time to create the scarf on the snowman jar. Cut a piece of plaid ribbon the length you’ll need, then tie it around the jar. Secure the back with a little bit of hot glue to make sure it stays in place.

Glue ribbon scarf in place with hot glue gun

Then, adjust the ribbon so it looks like it’s flowing in the breeze. Be sure to fold the top piece of ribbon over the knot on the front. Use a couple of drops of hot glue to keep the ribbon in place.
