Easy Batman Birthday Cake with DIY Cake Topper

This amazing Batman birthday cake is a quick and easy dessert perfect for a birthday celebration. With the help of your Cricut, you can easily make your own cake toppers to decorate each sweet treat.

With the help of some colorful sprinkles and a DIY Batman cake topper, you can easily turn a plain cake into a themed birthday treat. That means there’s no need to purchase an expensive cake for your party when you can easily make one yourself!

With the help of some cake mix and your Cricut, you can put together an amazing Batman dessert with just a few minutes of prep work! And the best part about this simple birthday party idea is that you don’t need any cake deocrating experience to do it yourself at home!

Batman Birthday Cake

Making your own birthday cake at home doesn’t have to be difficult! You just have to have a few themed decorations to add to the top to turn a plain, boring cake into a super cool treat for your Batman party.

There’s no reason to spend tons of money on a fancy bakery cake for your next party! In fact, if you have a Cricut at home, you can easily make your own Batman cake topper to decorate your homemade cake with just a few minutes of work in your craft room.

To make a Batman cake for your party, you’ll need:

• Cake mix. Pick your favorite cake mix flavor to whip up a quick and easy cake to serve at your party! We had chocolate cake at our party, but any flavor will work perfectly for your own dessert.
• Icing. I suggest picking an icing color to match your party theme. Since we used yellow, black, and blue for our batman party, I decided to top the with yellow buttercream icing and add blue buttercream icing between each layer.
• Sprinkles. Decorate the top of your cake with Batman inspired sprinkles to instantly turn a plain homemade cake into a cool party treat.
• Black poster board. Make your own Batman cake topper with the help of some black poster board and your Cricut. I used my Cricut Explore Air 2 to make this bat signal cake topper at home.
• Wooden skewers. To attach the cake topper to the top of each treatyour birthday cake, you can use wooden skewers or paper straws.

How to Make Batman Cake Topper

Making your own Batman cake topper is a quick and easy craft project you can put together with just a few minutes of prep work! In addition to the black poster board for the topper itself, you’ll also need a Cricut, a hot glue gun, and a Batman logo SVG.

To make your own Batman cake topper at home, you’ll need to start with a Batman SVG. Once you have your SVG downloaded to your computer, upload the design to Design Space. Use the size of your cake to determine how big you want your cake topper to be. Since I made an 8-inch cake, I made the width of my Batman cake topper a little over 8 inches.

After uploading and resizing the design, place a piece of black poster board on your cutting mat. Set the dial on the machine to poster board, if needed, then hit the Make It button in Design Space to cut the Bat symbol.

When the poster board is finished being cut, carefully remove it from the cutting mat. Measure the height of your cake and trim the ends of the wooden skewers, if needed. Then, use your hot glue tun to attach one skewer to each side of the bat symbol.

How to Make a Batman Birthday Cake

Now that you have your Batman cake topper ready to go, it’s time to start decorating your cake! Luckily, it’s super easy to create a totally cool cake for your kid’s birthday — even if you’re not a great cake decorator.

Start by baking your cake and building the layers, placing a layer of blue buttercream between each layer of cake. Then, coat the top and sides of the cake with yellow buttercream. Use an icing smoother to smooth the top and sides, then decorate the edges with a star tip.

Once you have the icing added to your birthday cake, top the cake with Batman sprinkles. Then, carefully slide the wooden skewers on the cake topper into the top of the cake, making sure it sits straight.

After that, you can add a black number candle and Batman figurine to finish decorating your birthday dessert.

You can easily use the decorating techniques to turn a store-bought cake into a Batman birthday treat. Simply remove the decorations from the top of the cake and add the sprinkles, then attach the cake topper to the top of the cake.
• Cut the cake topper with scissors. If you don’t have a Cricut at home, don’t worry! Instead of cutting the SVG using the cutting machine, print it on cardstock. Then, use a pair of sharp scissors to cut the bat symbol. After that, you can attach the symbol to the cake with wooden skewers.
