Cute Halloween Themed Breakfast
You wouldn’t believe how simple these cute vampire donuts are to make! You can serve them alone on Halloween morning or use them as part of a larger Halloween breakfast spread.
To make this easy breakfast for Halloween, you’ll need:
- Plain glazed donuts
- White icing
- Red gel icing
- Large candy eyes
- Plastic vampire teeth
With just a few simple supplies, you can transform those plain glazed donuts into adorable vampires your kids will love to eat on Halloween morning!
Spread out your glazed donuts on a flat surface so they’re easier to work with. Then, spread the vanilla icing over the top of each donut, using the icing to cover the hole in the center of the donut.
Decorate the Vampire Donuts
After icing all your donuts, it’s time to have a little bit of fun decorating them for your Halloween themed breakfast! Start by placing those plastic vampire teeth in the center of each donut. I suggest working the vampire teeth a little bit before adding them to the donut. Bend the teeth together and hold them in place for a little while, then open and close them a few times to loosen the hinges. I didn’t do this and my teeth kept popping open while I was decorating the donuts!
After getting all the vampire teeth in place, grab the red gel icing and squirt two drops above the teeth. These drops will be used to hold the candy eyes in place.
Put one candy eye on top of each dot. While using the gel icing isn’t absolutely necessary — the white icing will hold the eyes in place just fine — I love the bloodshot look it gives the vampire donuts!
Finish decorating your Halloween donuts by adding a few drips of blood coming out of the sides of your vampires’ mouths.
Look how cute these vampire donuts are! They’re the perfect Halloween themed breakfast idea to get your Halloween off to an amazing start this year!
Tips for Making a Halloween Themed Breakfast
This easy recipe is fun and easy to make! But if you have questions as you’re decorating, I probably have the answer!
Can I make this a gluten free Halloween themed breakfast?
You can easily use gluten free donuts to create your own gluten free breakfast for Halloween. Katz Gluten Free makes gluten free donuts in a variety of flavors. They would be a perfect gluten free substitute in this recipe!
How to I keep the vampire teeth from popping open?
This was the biggest problem I ran into when making these Halloween donuts. Before placing the vampire teeth in the donuts, work them over a few times to loosen the hinges. Do this by opening and closing the teeth over and over again. You can also close the teeth and press the teeth together for a few seconds to make them stay in place.
Can my kids help make these Halloween donuts?
Sure! These donuts are so simple to make and decorate, your kids can definitely help out. In fact, I think they’d have a blast making these cute Halloween treats!
