Farmhouse Master Bathroom Design Ideas and Layout Inspiration
Our DIY home addition is quickly coming along! We put up the exterior walls up a couple weeks ago and the trusses are almost done! That means my part of the DIY process is going to be here soon, and I can’t wait. I’m starting with designing the master bathroom because it will definitely be the most complicated of the three new rooms. Keep reading to see some of my DIY farmhouse master bathroom design ideas and layout inspiration:
To determine how we were going to layout our master bathroom, we used a few different online design software. I wasn’t really comfortable using any of them, though. So, I used Photoshop to manipulate my designs. Here is the final layout we decided upon:
A lot of thought went into the layout. Some things to consider when you’re laying out a bathroom from scratch and searching for master bathroom design ideas include the placement of the toilet in relation to the existing sewer line, placement of windows in relation to exterior curb appeal, and the codes that regulate spacing between each bathroom element.
We chose to include a five-foot tub and an extra-large walk-in shower (five feet by 3 feet). I also decided to forgo additional bathroom storage and instead opt for a larger five-foot vanity. We plan on adding a custom tower on top for additional storage.
As I was searching for master bathroom design ideas for the layout and design of the bathroom, I came across so many amazing remodels!
This beautiful shower and tub combo from Crafty Texas Girls is the perfect mix of glam and industrial styles. I particularly love the subway tiles with grey grout combined with grey walls and marble floors. The tiled ledge next to the amazing claw-foot tub is a nice added touch, as well.
Here, I love the wood-framed mirror and barnwood flooring in this bathroom remodel from Must Have Mom.The color combinations are also amazing. The mix of light grey walls and blue-gray cabinets perfectly compliments the wood tones that appear throughout the rest of the bathroom.
Who doesn’t love shiplap? This barnwood accent wall is a beautiful take on the shiplap trend that is taking over rooms everywhere. I’ve considered adding shiplap to our DIY master bathroom and I love the idea of incorporating it sparingly. This accent wall using shiplap as a form of wainscoting is a great idea! The master bathroom’s vanity will be the centerpiece of the room, so I have to find the perfect double vanity. This task is proving to be difficult, so why not just build our own? This DIY vanity cabinet from North Country Nest is inspiring. Plus, I just love white shiplap and beautiful stained door used in the rest of the room!
