- Paper plates: White paper plates are a must when making your own mummy craft at home. We used small dessert plates for our mummies, but any size plate will work when making this easy project.
- White streamers: To turn the paper plate into a bandage wrapped mummy, you’ll also need some white streamers. If you don’t have any streamers on hand, you can also use tissue paper cut into strips or even toilet paper to make your own mummies!
- Googly eyes: Once you have your mummy wrapped up, you’ll need to add a face. A pair of large googly eyes is perfect for completing this fun kid’s art project.
How to Make a Paper Plate Mummy
Now that you have all your craft supplies gathered up and ready to go, it’s time to start crafting! Follow these simple instructions for making your own mummy paper plate craft at home today.
Start by grabbing your white paper plate. Use a piece of tape or a small amount of glue to attach the end of the white streamers to the center of the plate.
After that, wrap the streamer around the center of the plate horizontally until the middle is fully covered. You can wrap it as many times as you need to to fully cover that part of the plate.
After that, turn the plate clockwise and start wrapping the streamer bandages in the other direction to cover the other sides of the plate.
When all the edges of the plate are covered with streamers, your kids can keep wrapping in different directions to get the full mummy look.
When they’re finished wrapping their paper plate in mummy bandages, all that’s left to do is add the googly eyes. Just stick the eyes to the center of the plate and you’re done!
