Easy LEGO Marshmallow Pops

If your kid loves building blocks as much as mine does, hosting a LEGO themed birthday party is a no brainer. And since one of my favorite parts about planning a kid’s birthday party is coming up with adorable party snacks, you can be sure I have a few cute recipes that everyone at your LEGO party will love. These fun LEGO marshmallow pops are a quick and easy party treat you can whip up in a matter of minutes. And the best part is that there’s no baking involved!

Lego Marshmallow Pops

There’s no reason to hire someone to make party snacks for your kid’s birthday when you can easily make cute treats yourself at home. Even if you’re not the greatest baker or decorator, you can whip up these cute marshmallow pops!

Since these LEGO birthday party snacks are so easy to make, you only need a few supplies to prepare them. To make your own marshmallow pops at home, you’ll need:

• Full size marshmallows and mini marshmallows. To form the shape of a LEGO minifigure head, you’ll need two different sizes of marshmallows. After that, you just have to combine the two sizes together to form a marshamallow LEGO head.
• Sucker sticks. Using sucker sticks is essential in this party snack recipe. That’s because the sticks hold the marshmallows in place. And they make it much easier for your party guests to enjoy the sweet treats at your birthday celebration.
• Yellow melting chocolate. You can’t make LEGO minifigure treats without using the color yellow! With the help of melting chocolate, you can transform your marshmallows into cute LEGO faces.
• Black gel icing. The final ingredient you’ll need to make these fun LEGO treats is a black gel icing. This icing will be uses to draw the smiling faces on the front of your minifigure heads.

In addition to the ingredients you need to prepare your LEGO snacks, it’s also a good idea to find a container to display the treats. And since it’s a LEGO party, what better way to display your marshmallow pops than with a LEGO cake pop stand?

To put your pop stand together, you’ll need:

• LEGOs. In addition to the LEGOs needed to build the frame around the stand, you’ll also need additional LEGO pieces to fillin the space around the sucker sticks.
• Floral foam. To keep the marshmallow pops standing upright, I used floral foam. The green foam will hold the sucker sticks in place, ensuring your pops don’t fall over while they’re waiting to be eaten.

How to Make Lego Marshmallow Pops

Now that you have all your supplies gathered up, it’s time to start making your marshmallow pops! First, prepare your pop stand to hold the marshmallow pops in place while you decorate. Then, you can prepare the marshmallow pops themselves.

Start by creating a rectangle frame using your LEGO bricks. Make sure you build the sides up high enough to completely cover the foam squares. Once the frame is built, place the foam inside the rectangle. You can trim the foam pieces, if needed, to fit inside the box.

Once you have your marshmallow pop stand put together, you can start making the chocolate covered marshmallows. First, slide the full-sized marshmallow on top of the sucker stick, leaving the end of the stick poking up through the top of the marshamllow.

Note: I used chocolate filled marshmallows for a fun surprise inside the treat. But plain marshmallows will also work for these easy snacks.

After you have all the large marshamallos placed on the sticks, take a minute to melt your yellow chocolate according to the package instructions. Dip the end of the stick into the melted chocolate, then place the mini marshmallow on top of the stick. This will help hold the mini marshmallow in place while you coat the outside of the pops in the melted chocolate.

Give the chocolate under the mini marshmallow a few minutes to set, then dip the entire marshmallow LEGO head into the melted chocolate to fully cover it. Pull the marshmallow out of the chocolate and lightly tap the stick on the side of the cup to knock off the extra chocolate from around the marshmallow.

If you have an issue with the mini marshmallows falling off when you dip them into the chocolate, try holding the stick over the cup and spooning the chocolate over the marshmallows instead of dipping them.

After you dip all the marshmallows in the melted chocolate, place the sticks into the foam and allow the chocolate to harden. Once the chocolate is set, use the black gel icing to draw a smiley face on the front of each LEGO pop.

Now that the you have all your LEGO minifigure treats ready to go, you can finish putting together the display for your party.

Stick the sucker sticks into the craft foam, pressing them down into theh foam until they’re secure. Continue adding the pops to the stand, making sure not to overcrowd them. If you’re adding mulitple rows of pops in the stand, I suggest turning the faces away from each other so they don’t rub up against each other in the stand.

After you have all the marshmallow pops placed in the stand, use smaller LEGO pieces to fill in the space around the bottom of the sticks. This will help cover the craft foam inside the container and add a little more LEGO decoration to your display.
