Simple DIY Lego Birthday Party
Do you have a LEGO fan at home? Hosting a LEGO birthday party is such a fun way to celebrate your kid’s big day! But the best part about finding fun LEGO birthday party ideas is that you can easily DIY alot of the decorations and party food without much effort. Check out this fun brick-themed birthday party to get some ideas for your own celebration.

My preschooler loves LEGOs right now, so throwing a Lego brick party was inevitable. Luckily, this party theme was so much fun to put together!

LEGO Birthday Party
The first step to throwing an amazing LEGO birthday party is finding great decorations. Luckily, I was able to find decorations and other party supplies at Dollar Tree to save some money! To decorate my party, I used:
- Solid tableclothes: I created stripes with blue, red, green, and orange table clothes from the dollar store by folding the clothes in long strips.
- Brick favor boxes: To decorate the top of the table, I used brick favor boxes from the party section of Dollar Tree. They stack on top of each other, making them great for filling in blank spots on the table.
- LEGOs: When decorating for your birthday party, you can’t forget to use LEGOs! I made a stand to hold my LEGO head marshmallow pops out of LEGO bricks.
- Lego Jars: I also created some cute LEGO jars to hold the utensils and straws for my party. The jars were from Dollar Tree.
- Balloons: You can’t forget balloons when decorating for any birthday party! I found some block balloons at Dollar Tree and added a big 4 balloon from Hobby Lobby, along with some colorful latex balloons.
- LEGO boxes: To cover the weights for my LEGO balloons, I made some cute boxes using wood boxes from the dollar store and craft foam.
- Dollar Tree Lego Banner: I found a cute Happy Birthday LEGO banner in the party section at Dollar Tree to dress up the backdrop for the party table.
The balloons for the party were made up of solid colored latex balloons in red, blue, and yellow. I added a huge 4 balloon to one of the bouquets, along with a Happy Birthday Lego balloon from Dollar Tree. I used a helium tank to blow up the latex balloons, but the LEGO balloons were inflated right in the store for free.
Another DIY project I made for this party were these cute lego boxes! They’re painted wooden boxes from the dollar store with foam circles added to the front to look like LEGOs. I used my Cricut to cut out the circles to speed up the DIY process! For the party, I placed the balloon weights inside each of the boxes to cover the weights.
I also made Lego jars to hold the utensils and paper straws for the party. I found this colorful package of paper straws at Hobby Lobby. And the Lego napkins and plates were found in the party aisle at Dollar Tree.
To make the jars, I cut out LEGO faces on black vinyl using my Cricut. I painted these round jars from Dollar Tree with yellow acrylic pant and put the vinyl faces on the front.
Lego Birthday Party Food
The Lego party food was so much fun to make! I made a few different dessert items with the Lego theme. The first was a cute snack — LEGO head marshmallow pops! These were a quick and easy no-bake snack made with marshmallows and melting chocolate. I put them in a DIY marshmallow pop stand made out of Legos.
The Lego birthday cake was a three-layer chocolate cake with chocolate icing. To give it a LEGO theme, I added LEGO chocolate candies around the bottom of the cake. The top of the cake was decorated with rainbow sprinkles and LEGO candles.
To make the LEGO chocolates around the bottom of the cake, I used colored candy melts and brick candy molds. Just melt the chocolate, pour it into the silicone mold, and let the chocolate harden.
I also made LEGO cupcakes for the party. The cupcakes were topped with printable LEGO cupcake toppers and chocolate LEGO minifigures. The minifgures were made using silicone molds and chocolate melts, just like the bricks around the bottom of the cake.
I think it’s safe to say that the birthday boy had a blast at his LEGO birthday party!
