These free printable straw valentines make a super fun gift for your kids to pass out during their Valentine’s Day party at school! And what’s even better is that they’re super easy for you to make with a supplies from the dollar store!
You won’t believe how easy it is to make these cute crazy straw valentines at home! And since you only need two supplies, they’re a quick and easy idea you can put together with your kid’s help. To make your own DIY valentine gifts, you’ll need:
- Printable cards: Start by downloading my free printable straw valentines. Keep scrolling to see how to download and print your cards at home.
- Cardstock: When you’re printing your own valentine cards at home, cardstock is your best bet. The heavier the better — especially since you’ll be attaching a bracelet to the cards. I suggest using at least 65 pound paper when printing your valentines.
- Silly straws: You can find crazy straws at a variety of places, including Wal-Mart and Amazon. But if you want to get yours at the Dollar Store, check the seasonal section at the front of the store to find a package of heart shaped straws like the ones I used. The package includes 6 straws in three different colors: pink, red, and yellow.

The first step to making these valentines is to get ahold of your free download. After that, you can print the cards out and put your Valentine silly straw gifts together.

How to Make Crazy Straw Valentines
You won’t believe how easy it is to make these cute DIY gifts for the kids at the Valentine’s Day party. Before you can start making your gifts, you’ll need to have a PDF reader installed on your computer to view and print the PDF download. If you don’t have one, I recommend Adobe PDF reader.
To print your valentine cards, open the document with your PDF reader and print it on heavy cardstock. Then, cut each card out around the outer border. After that, you kid can sign their name on the back of each card.
When you’re ready to add the straws to the cards, punch a hole in the top and bottom of the card with a hole punch. Try to get the holes as even as possible to keep your valentines from looking crooked after you place them on the straws.
Once you have the holes punched into each card, carefully thread the bottom of the straw through the top and bottom holes. The cards should stay in place after you add them to the straws. But if you want to ensure they’re secure, you can add a piece of tape to the back of the card across the straw.

Tools
- Scissors
- Hole punch
Instructions
- Print the cards on cardstock and cut them out around the outer border.
- Punch a hole in the top and bottom of the card.
- Sign your child's name on the back.
- Thread the end of the straw through the holes in the card.
