How to Make a Mason Jar With Fall Flowers
There are two basic steps to putting together this mason jar with fall flowers — decorating the mason jar and creating the floral arrangement. Luckily, both parts are super easy!
Start by decorating your mason jar with some ribbon. Simply cut the ribbon to wrap around the jar completely, then use your hot glue gun to secure each end in place. If you want to add even more farmhouse style to your arrangement, try painting mason jars in fall colors before decorating them with ribbon.
After securing the ribbon in place with glue, grab your twine and wrap it around the center of the ribbon a few times. Then, tie a bow on the front of the jar to finish decorating this fall mason jar craft. The twine should stay in place on its own, but you can secure it in place in the back of the jar with some glue if you’re worried about it sliding off.
Once you have your jar decorated, it’s time to start adding the fall florals. For the back of the arrangement, I used Bittersweet sprigs. These long branches are great for filling in the back of the centerpiece.
In addition to the Bittersweet, I also added some Hop Bush branches to the back of the arrangement. These are also tall branches that make a great backdrop to the rest of the fall flowers.
Before adding the hop bush and bittersweet branches into the jar, take a minute to pull each branch apart and bend the stems so that they fan out. This will help your arrangement look fuller and bigger. Then, place the branches in the jar and arrange them together.
To give the arrangement a farmhouse look, I grabbed a couple of cotton stems to mix into the fall flowers. Each cotton stem has three cotton balls on it, so you’ll probably need a couple to give your arrangement a nice, full look.
I also found some cute Gerbera daisies with burlap petals in the floral section of Dollar Tree. These are another simple way to add a rustic look to your Dollar Tree fall centerpiece.
And you can’t have a fall floral arrangement without some mums! These dollar store mums are the perfect way to fill out your floral display and add even more fall color tothe arrangement.
Once you have the bush branches arranged, you can start adding the rest of your fall flowers. Start by separating the branches in each set of floral stems, then place the stick into the jar. Once you have each stem placed in the jar, work the flowers around so they’re mixed together. After that, add your cotton stems in and you’re done!
