Milano Cookie Ghosts
Did I mention that you only need three ingredients to make these adorable ghost cookies? That’s because all the hard work is done for you when you use store-bought cookies to make them!
Since you can make these cookies with just three simple ingredients, they’re perfect for a last-minute treat. You can make them for a party or just pass them out to trick or treaters when they visit your house on Halloween night!
To make your own Milano cookie ghosts, you’ll need:
- Milano cookies. You can use any flavor of Milano cookies when making these cute ghosts. I used traditional milk chocolate cookies, but grab your favorite flavor to make your own ghosts at home!
- White chocolate chips. To turn your Milanos into ghosts, all you need is white chocolate! You can use white chocolate chips, white chocolate bars, white melting chocolate, or even almond bark.
- Semi-Sweet chocolate chips. The final ingredient you’ll need is the regular chocolate to add the eyes to your ghost. I used semi-sweet chocolate chips, but any brown chocolate will work, including milk chocolate or dark chocolate.
How to Make Milano Cookie Ghosts
These no bake Halloween ghost cookies couldn’t be easier to make! Since you’re using premade cookies, there’s no need to turn on your oven to make these cute treats!
The first step to making these cute Halloween treats is melting your chocolate. I suggest melting the chocolate in a jar or coffee cup to making dipping the cookies a little bit easier.
If you’re using melting chocolate or almond bark to coat the outside of your cookies, just follow the instructions on the package for melting your chocolate.
If you’re using white chocolate chips, place the chips in your jar and microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring between each interval. Make sure not to overheat your white chocolate or it will harden and become unusable.
Sometimes, white chocolate can get a little too thick for dipping. If you’re having that issue, add 1/2 a teaspoon of vegetable oil or melted coconut oil to the chocolate and stir to mix. Continue adding more oil in 1/2 teaspoon increments until the chocolate is your desired consistency.
Once the chocolate is melted, hold the cookie at the end and dip it into the chocolate, leaving a little bit of the end of the cookie uncoated to give it a ghostly appearance.
Lightly tap your hand on the side of the jar to help the extra chocolate drip off the end of the cookie. Then, transfer the cookie to a piece of parchment or waxed paper to cool.
Continue dipping your cookies in the melted chocolate until all the cookies have been coated. After that, allow your cookies to cool and harden.
To speed up the cooling process, you can store your cookies in the fridge if you want.
After all the white chocolate is set on the outside of your cookies, place your chocolate chips in a piping bag and heat it in the microwave in 30 second intervals. After each interval, remove the bag from the microwave and squish it a little bit to mix up the chocolate. Continue cooking until the chocolate is melted.
Cut the very tip of the piping bag off and pipe two small circles for eyes and one larger circle for a mouth on the front of each cookie ghost.
Let your cookies sit for 10 to 15 minutes to give the chocolate face time to set, then serve your ghost cookies!

See how easy it is to make your own adorable ghost cookies for Halloween without ever turning on your oven!
On top of being super easy to make, this recipe is also simple to customize. Try these recipe adjustments and additions will help you create a spooky dessert for any Halloween celebration:
- Coat the entire cookie. I like the look of the partially coated cookies, which makes them look more like ghosts. But you could also coat the entire cookie in white chocolate. If you plan on using this method, I would use a bowl for the melted chocolate instead of a jar. Dip the cookie in the chocolate, coating both sides. Then, use a fork to remove the cookie from the chocolate.
- Try candy eyes. Instead of drawing chocolate eyes on the front of your ghost cookies, try using candy eyes for a sillier look. Attach the candy eyes to the front of each ghost cookie while the white chocolate is still soft so they stick.
