Heart Craft for Toddlers
This craft is super simple to put together, making it perfect for toddlers! To make your own Valentine’s Day heart craft, you’ll need a few kid’s craft supplies, including:
- Red paper plate: The base of your heart wreath will be a paper plate. I chose red so it wouldn’t show through behind the stickers on top.
- Felt heart stickers: I found these cute felt heart stickers at Dollar Tree, making them perfect for this simple toddler craft.
- Scissors: To turn the paper plate into a wreath, you’ll need to use scissors.
So, gather up your supplies and get started on your own heart wreath craft right now!
How to Make a Paper Plate Wreath
The first step to making your toddler heart craft is to get your paper plate ready to be decorated. After that, your toddler can have some fun decorating their own Valentine’s Day wreath.
Since this part of the craft involves cutting, you’ll need to handle the first step in the process. To cut the center out of the plate and turn it into a wreath, simple fold the plate in half and cut all the way around the circle until it’s completely cut out.
When you have the base of the wreath ready to go, your toddler can start adding stickers. I suggest placing the larger stickers on the bottom layer of the wreath, covering the paper plate.
Then, you can use the smaller heart stickers to fill in some of the blank areas between each larger heart. But there’s no certain way to make this craft, which means your toddler can have some fun adding the stickers where ever they want.
When your toddler is finished decorating their Valentine’s Day wreath, use a piece of ribbon to create a loop on top. Just cut a short piece of ribbon, then glue the ends to the back of the wreath. That way, you can hang your wreath for everyone in the family to enjoy.
How cute is that wreath? And since it’s so simple to make, your younger kids will have a blast putting it together for Valentine’s Day this year!
