These easy breadtick fingers are so simple to make! But the best part about this recipe for is that you probably already have everything you need to make them because they’re prepared with just three ingredients! To create your own bread fingers for Halloween you’ll need:
- canned crescent rolls
- pepperoni slices
- melted butter
- garlic powder
- marinara sauce for dipping (optional)
However you plan to serve these witch finger breadsticks, I’m sure everyone will love them! So what are we waiting for? Let’s learn how to make these easy Halloween appetizers.
How to Make Breadstick Fingers

Making these cute breadstick fingers couldn’t be simpler. Start by opening your crescent roll dough and unrolling it. Don’t pull the triangles apart after the dough is unrolled. Instead, separate the dough into two rectangles. Press the seams of the triangles together down the center of each rectangle, then use a rolling pin to press down the dough slightly.
Once the seam is sealed, cut the dough into four long rectangles. Roll up each rectangle lengthwise to form a cylinder.

Next, lay each crescent roll finger on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Press the top of each crescent roll finger down slightly to hold the fingernail in place.
You can see in the picture that I tried to make score marks in the fingers to make them look more realistic. As the crescent rolls bake, they rise slightly and the score marks disappeared, so there’s no need to take this extra step!

To make your witch fingernails for your breadsticks, cut pepperoni slices into quarters. Simply slice the pepperoni in half, then cut each of those halves in half again.

Press each pepperoni slice into the top of the crescent rolls to secure it in place. After all the fingernails have been added, place your baking sheet in the oven and cook the breadsticks until they’re golden brown.

When the breadsticks are finished baking, brush them with melted butter and sprinkle some garlic powder over the top to give them a little more flavor. Serve your fingers witih blood marinara sauce when you’re ready to eat them.

- Stuff them with cheese. One simple way to take the flavor of these crescent roll fingers up a notch is to add some cheese. Before rolling your fingers, place a strip of string cheese in the center. Roll the crescent rolls around the cheese, then bake them according to the package instructions. - Use pizza dough. Crescent roll dough is a great option because it’s light and fluffy. But you could also use premade pizza dough to make your witch fingers. Use the same method for rolling your finger breadsticks, then follow the baking instructions on your pizza dough package.
- Decorate with different fingernails. I love the look of the pepperoni on these breadstick fingers, but you could use different types of foods to create the look of fingernails. Try using halfed black olives, red bell pepper triangles, or slivered almonds as fingernails instead.
