Make Your DIY Christmas Slime Gift
After printing your gift tag and cutting it out, set the tag aside while you gather all the slime ingredients. Start with two bottles of glitter glue — one red and one green. This slime kit has enough ingredients for making two different colors of slime!
The next ingredient you’ll need for your Christmas slime gift is contact solution. Since the amount of contact solutions varies as you’re making the slime, I think it’s best to include a small bottle of contact solution in the kit. That way, your kids are sure to have enough to make their slime the right consistency. I got my travel sized bottle of contact solution at Target. It was right next to the full-sized bottles of contact solution.
Making slime can get a little bit messy, so including a cheap plastic bowl in the basket is probably a good idea. That way, your little ones won’t get one of your bowls messy! I found this red bowl at Wal-Mart.
And since your kids will need to measure the contact solution as they’re making their Christmas slime, it’s also a good idea to give them a measuring spoon. This white measuring spoon is from the Dollar Tree.
To make their Christmas slime, your kids will also need baking soda. Each slime recipe will need 1/2 tablespoon of baking soda. So, I filled two small bags with 1/2 tablespoon baking soda each, then tied them with a piece of red and white twine.
The last piece of this fun slime gift basket is the Christmas confetti. I found this confetti at Wal-Mart, but if you can’t find it there are a variety of different types of Christmas confetti on Amazon.
Put Your Slime Gift Basket Together
After gathering and measuring all your supplies, it’s time to put this cute slime gift basket together. I used a red woven basket I found at Dollar General, then filled it with some paper shreds to give all the supplies a place to rest.
To put the basket together, I placed the larger bottles, like the glue and contact solution, in the back. Then, I added the bowl to the other side of the basket. The smaller bags of baking soda and confetti and the measuring spoon went in the front of the basket. After that, I stuck in the printable card right in the center.
How simple is that? And in the end, you’ve got an adorable slime kit that makes a fun Christmas gift and an educational activity for your kids to do when Christmas morning is over.
