- Cardstock: When you’re printing your own valentine cards at home, cardstock is your best bet. The heavier the better — especially since you’ll be attaching a spring to the cards. I suggest using at least 65 pound paper when printing your cards at home.
- Mini Slinkies: I grabbed these neon springs from Wal-Mart in the part section. But you can also get mini slinkies from Amazon to add to your cards! Scroll to the bottom of the post to see some cute ideas for making your own valentine gifts!
- Scissors and glue: To put this easy craft together, you’ll also need a pair of sharp scissors to cut out the cards. Then, use glue to secure the top of the cards together to hold the Slinky in place.

How to Make a Slinky Valentine
Once you’ve taken the time to download the free printable valentine cards, putting these adorable Valentine’s Day gifts together is pretty simple! To view the printable PDF, you’ll need to have a PDF reader installed on your computer. If you don’t have one, I recommend Adobe PDF reader.

To print your valentine cards, open the document with your PDF reader and print it on heavy cardstock. Then, cut each card out around the outer border. After that, you kid can sign their name on the back of each card.

Once you have all your cards cut out and ready to go, you can start attaching your Slinkies. First, carefully bend the bottom of the card so that it will fit through the center of the Slinky. Then, thread the Slinky onto the center of the card.

After that, fold the card over so that the top and bottom sections meet above the slinky and glue or tape the top and bottom together.
