To make your own preschool tractor craft, you’ll just four simple craft supplies, including

  • Gree popsicle sticks
  • Yellow buttons
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Easy Farm Craft for Preschool

The first step to making this cute tractor from popsicle sticks is to cut the popsicle sticks. Use your scissors to cut the ends off two popsicle sticks. Then cut another popsicle stick in half. Discard the cut-off ends and one half of the popsicle sticks.

Create the tractor’s window by gluing the half popsicle stick to the top of the other two popsicle sticks with the ends cut off.

Then, use four full-sized popsicle sticks to create the body of the tractor. Start by gluing one stick on the bottom of the cut-off sticks, then build the body by gluing the remaining popsicle sticks in a row on top off that bottom stick.

Finish your preschool farm craft by gluing the button wheels on the bottom. To create a tractor look, we used one large button and one small button. The larger button is glued toward the back of the tractor while the smaller button is glued toward the front.

Popsicle Stick Tractor Variations

This adorable farm themed craft for preschool is perfect for little hands! It’s great for helping them practice their fine motor skills. And while this cute craft is perfect for preschoolers, there’s no reason kids of any age couldn’t make this fun farm craft! If you’d like to change up your craft, why not consider one of these easy ideas:

  • Paint the popsicle sticks. We found our green popsicle sticks at Dollar Tree. But if you don’t have any on hand, you can create your own green popsicle sticks by painting them. You can paint the sticks before you assemble your tractor. Or put the tractor together, paint the sticks green, then attach your button wheels after the paint has dried.
  • Use buttons of the same size. If you don’t have two different sized buttons at home, don’t worry! You can use two buttons of the same size to create the wheels on your tractor.
  • Make paper wheels. Or if you can’t find buttons at all, just cut out two circles from yellow construction paper. Then, glue the yellow wheels to the tractor instead of buttons.
