My son’s Toy Story birthday party was probably one of the most fun parties to plan because there are so many amazing food and decorating options to choose from. The cast of characters in Toy Story is so diverse! You have cowboys and space rangers, slinky dogs and potatoes, and even Little Bo Peep and Barbie. There are Toy Story birthday party ideas to help shape your party theme to fit your child’s favorite characters. For my son, it was all about Buzz Lightyear and Woody! Toy Story Birthday Party Decorations

When we decided to focus on Buzz and Woody for our Toy Story party, I decided to stick to a color theme when planning the party. That way, I was able to save a little money on purchasing tableware and balloons in solid colors. We stuck with red and yellow plates and utensils to match Woody, and yellow, green and purple balloons to match Buzz.

On the kid’s table, I used bandanas in the theme colors (purple, green, yellow, and red) as well, to add some pops of color to the plain grey table. I also used green army men and wooden alphabet blocks to add some fun Toy Story party themed decorative elements to the table. Finally, the balloons added some height and color to the table setting.

I covered the folding table that was provided by the gym we rented to host the party with a plain white tablecloth, then put the food spread on top. In addition to the Toy Story party themed food, I also provided some soda and juice boxes for the guests. The treat bags were also available on the food table. Each treat bag included some green army men, a chocolate mustache, and space laser squirt gun. To make the treat bags, I used brown paper lunch bags. I folded the top over, punched two holes below the fold, and pulled some cute red, blue, and yellow ribbon through to secure it.

Toy Story Party Food

My food spread was small for this Toy Story party because we only had the party room for 30 minutes. I made some cupcakes with white icing, cookies, candy, and chocolate covered marshmallow pops for my Toy Story birthday party.

The Toy Story party cupcakes were vanilla with white icing. I made my own cupcake toppers using some clipart I purchased on Etsy and cardstock. I also found this great striped number candle that had all of my party's theme colors on it.

I think these little gems were the star of the Toy Story birthday party. The kids just loved them, and they were so simple to put together! I used these cute plastic mini cowboy boot glasses and filled them with gummy worms to make "snakes in a boot." The cute party food display matches Woody's famous phrase, "There's a snake in my boot!"

These Jessie's cowboy hat cookies were also very simple to make for the Toy Story party. I just baked some sugar cookies, which were cut into circles, then iced with red icing. I then piped some white icing around the edges and placed a drop of white icing in the middle with a red gum drop on top. To make these Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head mustache and lips, I melted dark chocolate (for the mustaches) and red melting chocolate (for the lips) and poured the chocolate into these mustache and lip chocolate molds. I used paper straws as the sticks for the chocolate pops.

I also used paper straws as the sticks for these cute alien pops. The Toy Story birthday party pops are made out of marshmallows that were dipped in green melting chocolate. After the chocolate had cooled and hardened on the marshmallows, I used a little more melted green chocolate to secure these cute candy eyes to make Aliens. To make the stand for the pops, I stuck the sticks into a round piece of Styrofoam, which I wrapped in scrapbook paper and covered with blue Easter basket grass.

Everyone had such a great time at this Toy Story birthday party -- especially the birthday boy (who really loved the chocolate mustashes, as you can see)!
