Aren’t these pastel Easter parfaits the cutest? On top of being an easy no-bake dessert, you only need seven ingredients to prepare it — and most of these are different flavors of Jello!
In addition to being a quick and easy recipe you can make for Easter, these Jello pie parfaits are also gluten free! That means they’re a delicious gluten free dessert that everyone at the dinner table will love.

Easter Bunny Pafait
Although these individual Jello pie desserts don’t require any baking, they do take a while to set. Keep the chilling time in mind as you plan your Easter dinner menu because you’ll need to keep the layers of this dessert in the fridge most of the day before you can assemble the mason jar treats.

One thing I love about this festive Easter recipe is that you only need a handful of ingredients to prepare them! To make this easy mason jar Easter dessert, you’ll need:
- Jello: I used four different flavors of Jello to create the layers in this mason jar dessert — grape (purple), berry blue (blue), lemon (yellow), and strawberry (pink). In addition to the Jello mix, you’ll also need water to prepare the gelatin flavors.
- Cool Whip: The key to getting the fluffy texture in this Jello pie recipe is the use of frozen whipped topping. Make sure to thaw the topping before you start mixing it into the dessert filling.
- Whipped cream: While it’s totally optional, I topped each mason jar treat with a dollop of whipped cream. You could also use plain whipped topping to decorate the top of each jar so you don’t have to buy an extra ingredient.
- Pastel sprinkles: Another optional decoration for the top of your Jello pie jars is Easter sprinkles. You can use any type of pastel or spring-themed sprinkles to decorate each dessert.
- Peeps: Add a fun Easter touch to the top of each jar with a marshmallow peep. I used bunny Peeps to create Easter Bunny parfaits. But you could also use chick Peeps to decorate the top of each jar.
- 8-ounce mason jars: To create these fun mason jar desserts, you’ll also need half-pint jars. I love these plain glass jars for this dessert because you can easily see all the colorful layers inside the jar.
After looking at that list of ingredients, you may have a couple questions in mind, like:
- Are Peeps gluten free? If you’re a Peeps lover, like me, you’ll be happy to learn that all Peeps are gluten free! You can check the back of the package to see the “gluten free” label.
How to Make Mason Jar Easter Desserts
Since there’s no baking involved in making these fun parfaits, you don’t have to preheat your oven to get started! But you do need to use boiling water to prepare the Jello for your dessert, so before you can start blending all the ingredients together, put on a big pot of water and bring it to a boil.

To prepare each layer of the Jello parfaits, you’ll need to mix up all four flavors of Jello in separate bowls. The bowls don’t have to be large, just big enough to hold 1 cup of water and 1 cup of whipped topping.
Start by adding half of a 3-ounce package of Jello to each bowl. Then, stir in 2/3 cup of boiling water to each bowl. Continue stirring the gelatin with the hot water until the Jello is completely dissolved. After that, you can add 1/3 cup cold water to the bowl.
Stir to combine the ingredients, then place each bowl in the refrigerator to chill for around 30 minutes. The Jello mixture should just beginning to set, but not fully hardened yet.

Once the Jello has started to thicken, stir in one cup of whipped topping. Start stirring slowly until the liquid is mixed into the Cool Whip. After that, you can speed up your stirs to fully incorporate the two ingredients.
Return the bowl to the refrigerator for around one hour to give the Jello time to fully set this time. At this point, the mixture will be thick with a texture similar to mousse. Lightly stir the mixture to make sure it’s fully set. If part of the filling is still runny, return it to the refrigerator to chill for another 30 minutes.

After each color of the filling has set, transfer each color to a piping bag or gallon-sized plastic bag. Snip the point off the bag and pipe around one inch of purple filling in the bottom of each jar. Tap the jar on the counter to help even the layer.
Repeat the process with the blue, yellow, and pink layers. Make sure to lightly tap the jar on the counter after each layer is added to help level the top of the filling to keep your layers as even as possible.
Once all the jars are filled with filling, you can return them to the refrigerator until you’re ready to serve them.

When you’re ready to serve your Jello pie jars, you can take them out of the fridge and top each jar with whipped cream. Decorate the whipped cream with some Easter sprinkles, then lightly press a Bunny marshmallow peep into the top of the jar.
Mason Jar Easter Dessert Ideas
These no bake Easter desserts couldn’t be easier to make! But if you have questions as you’re preparing the recipe, I probably have the answer!

These recipe tips and tricks are a simple way to adjust the recipe to suit your tastes and needs. Try these baking ideas as you’re preparing your own Easter treats:
Decorate with more Easter candy. Once you have your Easter Bunny parfait jars prepared, there are so many fun ways you can decorate the top of the dessert! You can add some jelly beans, chocolate eggs, or chocolate bunnies to the top of the dessert for even more Easter fun.
Add a crust. Since I was trying to make this a gluten free dessert, I didn’t include a crust in these Jello pie jars. But traditional Jello pie is usually made with a graham cracker crust. To add a crust to the bottom of the jars, simply combine one cup of graham cracker crumbs with two tablespoons of melted butter. Stir until all the crumbs are moistened, then spoon the crust mixture to the bottom of each jar. After that, you can top the crust with the Jello pie layers.

You could make these a couple of days in advance and keep them in the fridge until you’re ready to serve them. Just put the lids on the jars while you’re storing them, then add the toppings right before you serve them!
Hi, I’m going to make these for this upcoming Easter. I’m in the process in making them ahead of time . Can I make 1 box of each of the flavors, instead of 1/2 the package (3oz)? I have 24 8 oz mason jars to fill. A lot of friends & family joining us this year.
Sure! You’ll just need to double the amount used for each flavor, so if you’re making a full 3 ounce package of Jello, you’ll need 1 1/3 cups boiling water, 2/3 cup cold water, and 2 cups Cool Whip.
