Easy Charcuterie Skewers Appetizers

Sharing is caring!

Charcuterie boards are a great appetizer option for any party. What I love most about those boards is that you can customize them, which means you can easily make them using your favorite ingredients. But there’s no reason to set out an entire board at your next party! With these individual charcuterie skewers, your guests can get all the flavors of a charcuterie board without all the extra work!

Charcuterie Kabobs

The great thing about making individual charcuterie appetizers is that you can add whatever you want to your kabob sticks! I’ll start out by telling you everything I included in my appetizers, then I’ll give you some other ideas you could put on your own charcuterie skewer.

To make these easy charcuterie appetizers, I used:

  • Mini dill pickles
  • Sliced salami
  • Sliced pepperoni
  • Cheddar cheese cubes
  • Babybel cheese wheels

How to Make Charcuterie Skewers

Now that you know what’s on my charcuterie on a stick, you’re probably wondering how to make them. In addition to the ingredients you’ll need to add to the skewers, you’ll also need:

  • Bamboo skewers: These bamboo sticks are a great option for displaying the different elements of your appetizers. And they’re long enough to fit just the right amount of meats and cheeses for one person to enjoy.

Before you can start putting your charcuterie sticks together, you’ll need to take a minute to prepare your ingredients. Unwrap all the meat slices, as well as the Babybel cheese. Then, cut the cheddar cheese into large cubes.

I wouldn’t recommend using pre-cut cheese cubes for these kabobs. The cheese cubes in a bag are too small to thread onto your bamboo kabob sticks, which means they’ll probably crack and break in half. Instead, I suggest buying a block of cheese and cutting the cheese into one-inch cubes to use on your kabobs.

how to fold pepperoni for charcuterie

After preparing your ingredients, you can start adding the meats and cheese to your kabob sticks. If you’re wondering how to fold pepperoni for charcuterie, the easiest way is to fold your pepperoni slice in half, then fold it in half again. This makes a nice ruffle on your meat slices that looks amazing on your skewers!

Fold a slice of pepperoni and a slice of salami and thread both pieces of meat onto your kabob stick. As you’re pushing the meat on top, make sure to leave a little bit of space on the end of the stick for your Babybel cheese and mini pickle.

Next, carefully slice a cheese cube under the meat slices. Make sure to place the kabob stick directly in the center of the cheese to keep it from cracking or breaking.

Continue layering meat and cheese on the kabob stick until it’s almost full. Leave a few inches on the bottom of the stick bare so that your guests can easily hold the stick and eat the food off of it.

Finish decorating your kabob sticks with a Babybel cheese wheel and a mini pickle on top. Then, display your finished charcuterie kabobs on a large wooden board for your guests to enjoy.

More Ideas & Variations

Once you have the basic idea of how to make your own charcuterie skewers, the possibilities are endless! Try adding some of these other ingredients to your own kabobs:

  • Different cheeses, like mozzarella, provolone, Swiss, pepper jack, white cheddar or Brie
  • Vegetables, like olives, roasted red peppers, or cherry tomatoes

At first I thought the white pieces were eggs and thought, great idea. Then I saw they were Babybels and oh my, that’s genius! And I think it’s so much more sanitary to do it this way. I LOVE IT! Thank you for sharing this on Farmhouse Friday. I’ll be featuring it tomorrow and making these this weekend for my hubbies birthday party! Hope you link up again soon. pinned
