  • Wreath forms: The most important item you’ll use in your wreath is the wreath form. And Dollar Tree always has a variety of wreath forms to choose from. You can find traditional round wreath forms in the craft section. Typically, the store has foam, wire, and willow wreath forms you can use as the base of your wreath. Another place to look for wreath forms is in the store’s seasonal section. You might be able to find a patriotic wreath form to use for your front door.
  • Ribbon: There are so many great red, white, and blue ribbon options at the dollar store. You can find plain and patterned ribbon in the craft section in patriotic colors, along with twine and rope for a more rustic look. The seasonal section is also a great place to find patriotic ribbon for your wreath.

Red white and blue stars from Dollar Tree

While there are tons of great ways to use dollar store supplies to make a wreath, if you’re wondering how to make this Dollar Tree 4th of July wreath, here’s what you’ll need:

  • Wreath form: When I was shopping for supplies at my Dollar Tree, they were all out of wreath forms. So, I grabbed a grapevine wreath from Wal-Mart to use for this project. But you could also use a foam or willow wreath form from the craft aisle to make your own floral wreath.
  • Patriotic flowers: I just love these patriotic flowers from the dollar store! My store had daisies and poppies with stars and stripes patterns, along with solid red, white, and blue flowers to mix in.
  • Wooden stars: With the help of these fun wooden stars, you can add some sparkle to your wreath. While this is technically a door hanger, I removed the stars from the ribbon to decorate my wreath.
  • Hot glue gun: Make sure all the pieces stay on your wreath while it’s hanging on your front door with the help of your handy hot glue gun. You’ll need it to attach the stars and flowers to the wreath.

Since each of the supplies I used to create this wreath came from Dollar Tree, there only cost $1. That means I was able to make this farmhouse wreath for just $5!

How to Make a Dollar Tree 4th of July Wreath

After you have all your supplies ready to go, you can start putting your DIY Dollar Tree 4th of July wreath together!

Patriotic flowers from the dollar store

Before you can start decorating your wreath form, you’ll need to take a few minutes to get your supplies ready. First, remove the burlap ribbon from the back of your wooden stars. Since they’re stapled on, you can just pull the ribbon off.

Then, pull the flower buds off the stems. You won’t need the stems to attach your flowers to the wreath because we’re going to glue them all in place.

Glue the wooden stars to the wreath form

Once you have all your supplies ready, you can start decorating! First, add the stars to the wreath. I glued the red and blue stars to the wreath form first, then attached the white star to the top of the red and blue ones. After attaching each star, make sure to press it into place until the glue dries to make sure it’s secure.

Next, you can add all the flowers to the wreath. To attach your flowers, add a large dollop of hot glue to the back of the flower, then press it into place on the wreath. Hold the flower in place, making sure to apply some pressure, until the glue is dry. You can give the flower a light wiggle to make sure it’s stuck.

As I was adding flowers to the wreath form, I alternated between red and white striped, blue stars, and solid flowers to create a sort of pattern around the form.

How to Hang a Wreath on Your Front Door

Now that you have your wreath decorated with pretty patriotic flowers and stars, you’re going to want to display it!
