Wood Bead Wreath Ornaments

You’ll need just three simple craft supplies to make your own wood bead wreath ornaments. How easy is that? Keep reading to see how to make your own wood bead wreaths in a matter of minutes.

To make your wreath ornament DIY, you’ll just need these three craft supplies:

  • Wood beads: I used these cute 3/8-inch wood beads from Michaels to make my wood bead wreath ornaments. You can also find similar wood beads in the craft section of Wal-mart.
  • Red and black plaid ribbon: Add some farmhouse charm to the top of your wood bead wreaths by using red and black plaid ribbon to make a bow.
  • Floral wire: Give your wood bead wreath a round shape with the help of floral wire.

How to Make a Wood Bead Wreath

To make your own farmhouse wood bead wreaths for your Christmas tree, start by cutting a piece of floral wire around eight inches long. Thread the beads onto the wire until you’ve reached your desired size. Then, twist the wire together at the top and loop it around to make a hanger at the top. That way, you can easily hang your ornaments on the tree when you’re done.

After that, all you have to do is tie a bow on top of the ornament to finish it! The bow not only adds a cute farmhouse touch, but it also helps you cover the wire at the top of your wood bead wreath.

After tying your bows, all you have left to do is hang your ornaments on your Christmas tree!

If you’re looking for ways to change up the look of these farmhouse style wood bead wreath ornaments, here are a few ideas:

  • Paint the beads. Instead of using raw wood beads, why not paint the beads to add some color to your ornaments? You could go with classic farmhouse white or get a little more festive and paint them red or green for a Christmas look.
  • Stain the beads. Give the beads a more rustic look by staining them before you thread them on the floral wire.
  • Change up the ribbon. Instead of red and black plaid, why not try a different ribbon on your wood bead wreaths? You could go with a solid red or green or pick a different farmhouse style pattern, like buffalo check, for your wreath ornaments.

No matter how you choose to make these beautiful wreath ornaments, I’m sure they’re going to look amazing on your Christmas tree this year!

  2. What is the finished size of these?

    1. Mine were around 3 inches wide. But you can easily adjust the size by using bigger or smaller beads and adjusting the length of the wire.
