Finding awesome party favors for your guests can be a little difficult. You want to give the kids something to go home with, but you don’t want to pass out a bag of junk either. As my son gets older, he is starting to stray away from birthday parties with a theme. So this year, we did a simple video game party with his friends, along with a sleepover. That means we didn’t have a ton of guests at his party and I was able to make some cool DIY video game party favors!

DIY Video Game Party Favors
Each of my son’s guests got their own custom t-shirt to wear at the party! How fun is that? And these shirts were so easy to make! I used my Silhouette Cameo to create this design but you could easily make it on a Circuit, too.
I’ll provide you with all the information you need to make your own video game party t-shirts, including the fonts I used and where I got my video game controller clipart.
These simple video game party favors are not only easy to make, but they were also a big hit at the party. All the kids loved wearing the cool matching shirts as they played!
Video Game Favor Ideas
To make your own DIY video game party shirts, you’ll need cotton shirts to fit each of your guests and a cutting machine. To create the design, I used:
You can easily create this design in Silhouette Studio or Cricut Design Space. Start by uploading your font and graphics, then type the phrase “game on” at the top of the shirt. Place the controller graphics underneath, then cut the design on black iron-on vinyl. Iron on the vinyl adhere it to the shirt (I used my Cricut Easy Press and it worked perfectly). And you’re done! Just make one shirt for each of your guests and use them as DIY video game party favors.
And don’t forget to make a special shirt for the birthday boy! I used the same design as the other shirts for his birthday shirt, then added “advance to level 9” at the bottom, since he turned nine.
Then, just add those shirts to your the rest of your party favors for a video game party. In addition to our video game party shirts, I also gave the kids video game bracelets, pixelated sunglasses, and video game slime.
