To make your own wood bead Easter bunny wreath, you’ll need a few simple supplies, including:

  • Wooden beads. I found these cute pastel colored wood beads in the Easter section of the store. I needed around 2 packages of beads to make the ears on this wreath, but I didn’t use them all!
  • Bunny wreath form. To create the shape of my bunny wreath, I grabbed a wire bunny wreath form from the seasonal section of Dollar Tree.
  • Ribbon. You’ll need two types of ribbon for your wreath — a solid color to wrap the base of the wreath form and a patterned ribbon to make the bow. I got both from Dollar Tree, although the buffalo plaid was leftover from my Christmas supplies.
  • Wire cutters. To thread the beads onto the wreath form, I had to raid my husband’s toolbox and borrow his wire cutters. You’ll need heavy duty wire cutters to cut the form for this craft.
  • Hot glue gun. You’ll also need your trusty hot glue gun to hold the beads in place on your bunny wreath!

How to Make a Dollar Tree Bunny Wreath

If you’re wondering how to create this cute Easter wreath to hang on your front door, you’re in luck! All you have to do is follow these simple steps to create this bunny craft at home right now.

Start by using your wire cutters to cut the bottom side of each bunny ear. I suggest cutting the outside connections because it’s easier to thread the beads on from that side.

After that, stretch the ear out slightly to straighten out the point of the ear. This will help the beads slide over the top of the ear more easily. Then, thread the beads onto the ear.

It’s a good idea to flip the wreath form upside down after you get the beads past the top point of the ear or they’ll keep falling off!

Once all the beads are threaded onto the bunny ear, you’ll have to tackle the most difficult part of the craft — attaching the bottom of the ear back to the wreath form. Squirt a liberal amount of hot glue into the hole of the last bead and thread it onto the end of the wire. Then, press the bead into the small piece of wire sticking out of the wreath form. You’ll need to hold the pieces together until the glue dries.

After that, just repeat the process on the other bunny ear.

Once you’re sure the glue is completely dry on your bunny ears, you can start wrapping the ribbon around the bottom part of the wreath form. Start by gluing the end of your ribbon in place.

After that, tightly wrap the ribbon all the way around the wreath form. Once you get to the top of the wreath around the ears, you won’t be able to wrap as tightly. Just make sure all the wire pieces are covered. Don’t worry if it looks messy! You’ll add a bow to cover the ugly part in the next step!

Once you have the wreath completely wrapped, grab your patterned ribbon and tie a big bow. Then, glue the bow to the front of the wreath, right under the spot where the two ears meet. This will help cover the top of the wreath were the ribbon doesn’t look as nice!

How to Hang a Bunny Wreath

If you’re wondering how to hang your wreath on your door after you’re finished making it, you have a few different options! One simple way to hang the wreath is to hammer a nail into the door and hang the hook on top. But if you don’t want to damage your door, you could also try these damage-free hanging options:

Once you figure out what type of door hanger you’ll use, you’ll also need to add a loop of ribbon or twine to the back of the wreath for hanging. Just hot glue the ends of the loop to the back of the wreath and let the glue dry completely before hanging it on your door!
