How to Throw an Awesome Fortnite Birthday Party

If you have a kid in elementary or middle school, I’m sure you know how popular the game Fortnite is right now. So when my son’s birthday came around this year, there was no question about it — we were going to have a Fortnite birthday party! Throwing a truly awesome Fortnite party takes a little bit of planning. But lucky for you, I did all the hard work for you! Keep reading to tons of awesome Fortnite party ideas!

Throwing an awesome Fortnite birthday party is just like throwing any other kid’s party. To host a great kid’s party, you need three basic elements — decorations, food, and entertainment.

When planning your party, there are tons of great ideas to consider! Try these Fortnite party ideas at your celebration:

There are a variety of fun ways you can decorate your Fortnite party. Whether you choose to purchase your decorations or make them yourself, decorating a Fortnite party should follow the theme of the game.

Since Fortnite is an apocalyptic action game, a combination of natural elements and bright colors work well for decorations.

For our Fortnite party, I used a color combination of blue, green, and purple, which are all prominent colors in the game. Then, I mixed in some natural elements like faux greenery, moss sheets, and wooden boxes to add texture and height to the table.

Bandage Pringles Can DIY Fortnite Decorations

Balloons are a big party of any kid’s party decorations. For this Fortnite birthday party, I created a balloon arch along the top of the backdrop using a balloon decorating strip. I also added a few fun Fortnite Mylar balloons to the decorations to enhance the look of the party.

As a backdrop for the food table, I hung a large faux wood backdrop and decorated the backdrop with a Fortnite birthday banner to add to the rest of the Fortnite decorations.

I also used the party’s Fortnite favor bags as decorations. The bags were made with plain blue gift bags and yellow balloons to look like supply drops from the game. Inside the bags were these Fortnite party favors:

• Water guns
• Foam dart guns
• Airplane whistles
• Light up necklaces
• Matching Fortnite t-shirts

I also love making fun DIY Fortnite party decorations that are unique to the party theme. For this Fortnite birthday party, I made some walls out of craft sticks similar to the walls players build in the game.

Fortnite Party Food

Creating cool party food is my favorite part of planning my kid’s parties. For our Fortnite birthday party, I made medkits out of pre-made Rice Krispies treats, Froot by the Foot, and white royal icing. For drinks at our Fortnite theme party, we served blue Gatorade with a Chug Jug wrapper from Etsy.

Our Fortnite birthday party also had Slurp Juice to drink. That was made from blue Kool-Aid in a large glass jar.

And what would a party be without cake? For our Fortnite party, we served chocolate cake with a blue and green ombre icing. The cake was topped with Fortnite emote silhouettes and a custom made Battle Royale cake topper.

Fortnite Birthday Party Entertainment

Our Fortnite birthday party was a slumber party, so we had plenty of entertainment ready for the guests. We had planned to have a Nerf gun battle, but the weather didn’t cooperate, so we had a handful of fun board games for the kids to play.

There was also plenty of time for the boys to play Fortnite. And the party ended with a movie before they all fell asleep!
