Christmas tree craft supplies

This cute Christmas tree craft is so simple to make! It’s great for kids of any age! Your toddler and preschooler will have a chance to practice a few of his fine motor skills as he works, and your older kids will be able to complete this craft entirely on their own. To create your Christmas tree craft for kids you’ll need:

  • felt Christmas tree
  • gold pipe cleaner
  • red and green pompoms
  • Christmas stickers

And the best part about this cute craft is that all the supplies can be found at the Dollar Tree! I spent about $5 on supplies and this craft kept my little one busy for days! I think he decorated every tree in the package!

Decorate tree with tinsel

The first thing I did to help my little one along on the decorations is glue some gold pipe cleaner on the tree to act as garland and a red pompom on top of the tree. Since my two-year-old isn’t great with glue, I did this step myself. But older kids can definitely do this part on their own.

Then, I let my little guy go to town adding his sticker “ornaments” to the tree. These little glittery stickers were perfect for this craft. They’re easy enough for a toddler to remove from the paper on his own and they’re stick enough to stay on the felt tree after he puts them on.

What kind of glue should I use?

Since I glued the garland and pompom on top of the tree myself, I used hot glue to make sure they stayed in place. But if your little one is old enough to use glue on their own, traditional white glue should work fine on this Christmas tree craft.
