DIY Rae Dunn Easter Eggs with Free SVG

Making your own Rae Dunn crafts is a great way to add some farmhouse style your home for the holidays. And since I love Rae Dunn, I’m always on the hunt for new pieces to add to my existing decor. But if you’ve ever looked in the stores these days, you know how hard it can be to find cute new pieces! Instead of searching for the perfect piece, why not make your own? This Spring, decorate your home with these cute Rae Dunn Easter eggs.

These easy DIY Rae Dunn Easter Eggs are a quick and simple way to add some Rae Dunn style to your Easter decor when you can’t find the perfect piece at the store. It’s one of my favorite seasonal farmhouse DIY projects.

DIY Rae Dunn Easter Eggs

To make your own DIY Rae Dunn eggs, you’ll need a few supplies from your craft room. One of the supplies you’ll need is my free cut file to add your own Rae Dunn Easter words. Keep reading to see how to get your free Rae Dunn SVG!

To make your wooden Easter eggs, you’ll just need a few craft supplies, including:

• Wood eggs: I found these cute blank wooden eggs on Amazon and they’re perfect for making your own rustic Easter decor.
• Black vinyl and transfer paper: Any black vinyl and transfer paper will work for this Easter project!
• Rae Dunn Easter SVG : Keep scrolling to see how to get your free Rae Dunn inspired Easter SVG file to make your own eggs at home.
• Cricut: To cut the words for your Easter eggs, you’ll need a cutting machine to cut the vinyl. I use the Cricut Explore Air 2 and love it!

Free Rae Dunn Easter SVG

To make your own Rae Dunn Easter eggs, you’ll need to start by downloading my free Easter words SVG file. The SVG includes six Easter themed words (happy, Easter, hop, bunny, chick, and chirp) in Rae Dunn font. To get your own, simply sign up for my email list, cut the words with your favorite cutting machine, and apply them to your sign.

After subscribing, you’ll receive a welcome email with a LINK TO DOWNLOAD YOUR FILES. If you don’t see the message shortly after submitting your contact information, be sure to check your junk or spam folders and add my email as to your safe list! I’ll keep you up-to-date on new freebies and other posts twice a month after that.

After downloading the folder containing your file, unzip your file and upload the SVG into Design Space. When you load the SVG, you’ll see that each letter of the words is a separate piece. To make it easier to cut your design, select all the letters in the word with your mouse. Next, click the weld button in the bottom right corner to connect the letters together so they stay as a group when you’re ready to cut them.

When the letters are welded together, you can resize your words to fit on your eggs. Measure the width and height of the space where you want your word to go, then resize the letters in Design Space to fit that area.

After your words are the correct size, start cutting. Just hit the Make It button at the top and send your Rae Dunn Easter words to your Cricut.

Use your Cricut weeding tool to remove all the extra vinyl surrounding the words. Then place a piece of transfer tape on top to transfer the words from the vinyl backing to the napkin rings.

Rae Dunn Inspired Easter Eggs

Now that you have your vinyl ready to go, you can make your wooden eggs!

Start by giving your eggs a coat of paint. Since I wanted my Easter eggs to look like Rae Dunn pottery, I painted the sign white and used black lettering. Just decide what color combination you want to use, then paint your eggs the color you like.

After the paint is completely dry, you can add your vinyl letters to your eggs. Start by placing a piece of transfer tape on top of the vinyl letters, making sure all the letters of the word are covered with the tape. Rub the tape onto each letter, then remove it from the backing paper. Next, center the words on top of your eggs and press the vinyl onto the surface of the eggs.

Since the eggs are curved, you might notice that it’s difficult to keep the vinyl from creasing as you press it onto the surface. The best way to prevent this from happening is to start with the center letters and slowly work your way out. Allows press the vinyl onto the surface from the center outward to ensure everything stays even as you apply the vinyl.

Continue adding each word to your eggs until all the eggs feature a cute Easter phrase. Then, you can decorate your house with your adorable Rae Dunn eggs!

This simple Rae Dunn Easter decoration would look amazing in so many places! After you’re finished creating it, you could:

• Decorate your mantle. Decorate your living room mantle with some Rae Dunn style by placing the eggs on the mantle with the rest of your Easter decor.
• Put them on a wreath. Welcome guests to your home this Easter by placing your eggs on a wreath and hanging it on your front door.
• Fill a basket. Easter eggs belong in a basket! Fill a rustic basket will filler, like Spanish moss, and rest your eggs on top to display them.
• Add them to a tiered tray. Use your Rae Dunn eggs to accent your Easter decor on your favorite tiered tray.
• Give it as a gift. These cute eggs would make an amazing gift for any Rae Dunn lover this Easter!
• Sell it. Make some extra cash this spring by creating your own Rae Dunn inspired eggs and selling them.
