Easy Rustic DIY Rope Vase
Decorating in farmhouse decor is perfect for DIYers. If you can’t find what you want, you can easily make it yourself using rustic elements. I’ve been looking for the perfect rustic vase for a while and I finally decided to make this farmhouse DIY project myself! This simple DIY rope vase is the perfect addition to any room with farmhouse decor.

I love how simple this fun rope vase DIY is to make! In addition to taking no more than five minutes to complete, you also only need a few inexpensive supplies to create a beautiful vase for your favorite farmhouse flower arrangement.

Supplies for Your DIY Rope Vase
To create this rustic flower vase, you’ll need:
- A large vase
- Rope
- Hot glue gun
On top of only needing three things to put this DIY vase together, you won’t believe how cheap it was to make! I found the tall glass vase used as the base for my rope vase at Dollar Tree for just $1. And the rope cake from Wal-Mart in the Home Improvement section. It was $5 and I only used 1/3 of the package — which means I have plenty of leftover rope for another fun farmhouse DIY project!
Make Your Own Rustic Vase
This rustic rope vase is so simple to make! Start by adding a line of glue around the bottom of the base and securing the rope around the base. Hold it in place until the glue dries to ensure it stays in place as you start wrapping.
Continue wrapping and gluing as you move the rope up the vase, adjusting the rope as needed. You may find you need to add more glue or hold the rope in place for a few minutes as you wrap further up the vase.
When you’re finished wrapping the rope around the vase, use a sharp pair of scissors or a knife to cut the rope. Add a liberal amount of glue to the top of the vase and place the end of the rope on top of the glue. Hold the end of the rope in place until the glue dries.
The last step to putting together this easy farmhouse DIY is to add your favorite flowers. You can place a few faux flowers in the rope vase to have beautiful decor all year long. Or fill the vase with water and add a bouquet of fresh flowers to brighten up your room.
How to Decorate with a Rope Vase
The beauty of this easy DIY is that it can work with a variety of decorating schemes. While it’s perfect for rustic farmhouse decorating, it would also work well with a variety of other decors, including a beachy cottage theme or rustic Western scheme.
