After gathering up your ingredients, start by mixing together the eggs, sugar, and brown sugar until the ingredients are well combined. The mixture will be smooth and creamy.

Next, add the pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, and cinnamon. Beat to combine all the ingredients until smooth. Make sure the pumpkin and spices are well combined with the rest of the ingredients.

Then, add the evaporated milk to the mixture. Carefully mix the ingredients together, making sure not to turn up your mixer too high. The mixture will be liquid, so mixing the ingredients too fast will result in a mess!
Pumpkin Pie in a Jar

Now that you have your pumpkin custard mix, it’s time to add the mixture to your jars. I suggest using a canning funnel to pour the mixture into the jars to keep from spilling the custard as you pour. Fill each jar almost full, leaving a little bit of extra room at the top of the jar to allow the custard to expand as it cooks.

Place the jars in a cake pan or shallow baking dish to keep them upright as they cook. This will also make it easier to transfer the pumpkin pie jars into and out of the oven.
Bake the pumpkin custard for 35 to 40 minutes, until the center of the custard is set. You can also test the doneness by sticking a toothpick into the center of the custard. If it comes out clean, the pumpkin pies are done!

When you take your pumpkin custard out of the oven, you may notice that it has risen up higher than the top of the jar. Don’t worry, as the custard cools it will fall back into place.
Tips for Making Pumpkin Custard
This easy recipe for gluten free pumpkin custard is pretty fool proof. But you may have some questions along the way. Here are a few tips for making your own pumpkin pie in a jar.

Pick the right jars. Jars with a wide mouth are the best choice for making these pumpkin pie jars. The wider mouth makes it easier to fill the jars and easier to eat the pumpkin pie from the jars when they’re ready to be served.
Add some garnish to the top. While these pumpkin pie jars are delicious, the top of the jar isn’t very pretty, is it? Luckily, there’s an easy way to fix it! Add some whipped cream to the top of each jar, then sprinkle a little bit of cinnamon sugar over the top.
Chill the jars before serving. It can take a while for your pumpkin pie custard to cool. To speed up the process, place your jars in the refrigerator to chill. They’ll make it safer for your guests to enjoy the custard and cut down on the amount of time you’ll have wait before enjoying your pumpkin dessert.
