Gummy candy is always a favorite in our family, so I was so excited when I found these amazing Halloween silicone molds. These molds are perfect for making Halloween gummy candy, and the best part? You can customize your candy any way you want! These molds come in three fun Halloween shapes: pumpkin silicone moldskull silicone mold, and spider silicone mold.

I used two different flavors of Jello to make our Halloween gummy candy — orange and strawberry. While I kept the orange flavor’s color, I added some coloring to part of the strawberry mixture to create a very dark (almost black) purple. I found these awesome silicone molds on Amazon for my homemade Halloween gummy candy. One set is pumpkins, one set is skulls, and one is a mix of spiders and spider webs.

To make the gummies, you’ll need some plain gelatin, flavored Jello, water and corn syrup. For a more intense flavor, you can add some Kool-Aid to the mixture as well. To start, mix ¼ cup corn syrup with ½ cup very cold water in a heatproof cup (I love my Pyrex measuring cup for this). Stir until the syrup is dissolved, and then add in two packets of unflavored gelatin and one small box of Jello. Stir until combined. The mixture will begin to thicken as you stir.

As you’re stirring your gelatin mixture, fill a saucepan with approximately one inch of water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, then place your heatproof cup with the gelatin mixture inside the pan. This method will keep your gelatin from burning and sticking to the pan. Stir occasionally until the mixture is liquified (five to 10 minutes).

Remove the cup from the saucepan. Be very careful because the cup and liquid will be EXTREMELY hot! I found that it’s easier to pour the gummy mixture into your molds when using a squirt bottle. Just fill it up, then squirt it in. This is especially important when making more delicate gummies like these spiders.

Squirt the mixture into the molds until they’re filled to your satisfaction, then refrigerate the molds until the mixture is set. This takes about five hours. Once they have hardened, pop them out of the molds. I found that it’s a little easier to pull the gummies out if you run a toothpick around the edge of the mold.
