Cold BLT Dip
This gluten free appetizer comes together in a matter of minutes. In fact, the hardest part about preparing it is chopping all the bacon, lettuce, and tomato!

But the best part about this simple appetizer idea is that you only need six ingredients to make it! To prepare your own layered BLT dip, you’ll need:
- Cream cheese
- Mayonnaise
- Ranch seasoning
- Bacon
- Romaine lettuce
- Grape or cherry tomatoes
How to Make BLT Dip
This quick and easy dip comes together with just a few minutes of prep work. The most difficult part is waiting for it to chill before digging in!

To start, combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, and ranch seasoning in a medium bowl. It’s a good idea to start with softened cream cheese to make stirring your dip a little easier.
You can soften your cream cheese by letting it sit on the counter at room temperature for around 30 minutes before mixing. Or put the cream cheese in the microwave for 15 to 20 seconds to soften it more quickly.

After the cream cheese is combined with the ranch seasoning, spread the dip over the top of your serving plate in an even layer. I used a salad sized plate to serve this dip and it was the perfect size to hold this amount of cream cheese.
Once the cream cheese is evenly spread, carefully cover the plate with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator to chill for at least 1 hour. You can store the dip in the fridge for up to one day like this.

When you’re ready to serve your BLT dip, top the cream cheese with around one cup of finely chopped lettuce. I used romaine lettuce, but you could also use iceberg if that’s all you have on hand.
Make sure you chop the lettuce into fine pieces to make it easy to dip with crackers or chips!

After adding the lettuce, sprinkle around one cup of tomatoes over the top. I used grape tomatoes cut into quarters for this part of the dip.
You can use any type of tomato. The key is to chopping the tomato pieces into small, bite sized bits. Keep in mind that your guests will be scooping the tomatoes onto crackers and chips, so they need to be cut into small pieces.

The final step is to add the bacon. Make sure to cook your bacon until it’s crispy, then allow it to cool completely before topping your dip. If you add hot bacon to the top of the lettuce, it could cause it to wilt!
Chop the cooked bacon into fine pieces for best results. Or use pre-chopped real bacon bits to speed up the preparation process.
BLT Dip Recipe Ideas
See how simple it is to make your own bacon, lettuce, and tomato dip? And once you try this zesty spread, it’s going to be your new favorite party recipe!

Try these recipe adjustments and additions as you’re planning your party menu to create a delicious dip that your guests will love:
- Use ranch dressing. Don’t have any ranch seasoning on hand? Don’t worry! Simply substitute 1 cup prepared ranch dressing for the mayonnaise and ranch seasoning.
- Skip the ranch seasoning altogether. Not a fan of ranch? Leave it out! This dip will still taste great without the added seasoning. Just combine the cream cheese with mayonnaise for the bottom layer of the dip. If you’re worried it will be too bland, add some salt, pepper, and parsley before spreading.
How Do You Store BLT Dip?
This dip tastes best right after it’s prepared. If you have BLT dip left after your party, cover the dish with plastic wrap and store it in the refrigerator. Since the dip is topped with fresh lettuce and tomatoes, it doesn’t keep very long. You’ll notice the veggies start to droop after around a day in the fridge.
If you want to prepare your BLT dip ahead of time, make the cream cheese layer and add it to the plate. Cover the plate and store it in the fridge for up to two days. Then, wait until you’re ready to serve the dip to add the bacon, lettuce, and tomato to the top.
