My favorite part about these simple shark Jello cups is that you only need two ingredients! And you can get everything you need at the dollar store, which means they’re cheap AND easy to make!
These cute shark desserts are perfect for a kid’s party because you can whip them up with just a few minutes of prep work. To make your own shark treats, you’ll need:
- Blue Jello. I used berry blue Jell-o for these treats, but you can use any flavor blue gelatin for your own dessert. In addition to the Jello, you’ll also need cold water and boiling water to prepare the dessert cups.
- Gummy sharks. These cute rainbow gummy sharks are from Dollar Tree, but you can also find gummy sharks from Haribo in the candy section of most grocery stores.
- Small serving cups. Grab your own square dessert cups from the party section of Dollar Tree. Or use any clear plastic cups to prepare your own treats.
How to Make Shark Jell-O
You won’t believe how easy it is to make this adorable beach party food! In fact, there’s just two steps to putting this fun snack together — prepare the gelatin and add the sharks!
Start by preparing your blue Jell-O according to the package instructions. You’ll need to combine the gelatin powder with boiling water and stir until the powder has dissolved. Then, add the cold water to the bowl and whisk to stir the ingredients together.
Once you have your gelatin ready to go, you can start preparing your cups. Place one gummy shark in the bottom of each cup.
One 3-ounce package of gelatin will make six snack cups, so keep that in mind as you’re deciding how many cups you’ll need to make for your party!
Pour the Jell-O over the top of the gummy sharks in the cup. After that, place your cups in the refrigerator to chill.
Allow the gelatin to chill in the refrigerator for around one hour, until it’s soft set but not fully set. Then, remove the cups from the fridge and add more sharks on top of each cup.
After that, return the cups to the fridge to chill for at least three more hours before serving.

Ingredients
- 1 6 ounce package blue Jello (any flavor)
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
- Gummy sharks
- Small serving cups
Instructions
- Stir the boiling water into the blue Jello until the powder is dissolved, then add the cold water to the bowl. Continue stirring until well mixed.
- Place one gummy shark in the bottom of each cup, then pour the Jello mixture over the top of each shark until the cup is almost full.
- Place the cups in the refrigerator to chill. When the gelatin is soft-set, around one hour, remove the cups and place one to two more sharks on top of the Jell-O.
- Return the cups to the refrigerator to chill for at least three more hours before serving.
