How to Make a Rocket Out of Popsicle Sticks
Turning your wooden popsicle sticks into a rocket is so easy! Just follow these quick steps to make an adorable set of red and blue rockets with your kids.
The first step to building your rocket is to construct the foundation of the space ship. Start by cutting two of the popsicle sticks in half to use on the back of the space ship.
Then, line up the five red popsicle sticks on a flat surface. Make sure the ends are all lined up evenly, then glue the two small sticks to the back to hold them in place. Repeat this process with your blue sticks to make one blue rocket and one red rocket.
While you’re waiting for the glue to dry on your rocket’s body, you can cut out each of the pieces from the printable. I suggest printing the template on cardstock. Then, cut out each piece around the outer border.
After the glue has dried on your popsicle sticks, it’s time to start putting your rocket ship together. First grab the three triangle pieces from the template. Glue the large triangle to the top of the rocket. Then, attach the two smaller triangles to each side to form the rocket’s fins.
Finish making the rocket by gluing the two circle pieces to the front of the rocket to make the ship’s windows. Then, glue the flames to the bottom of the rocket.
