Popcorn Hand: A Cute Two-Ingredient Halloween Snack

I just love finding fun ways to package Halloween treats! To make this particular treat, I used just two ingredients and it is super simple to make! I love making a popcorn hand for each of the students in my kid’s classroom Halloween parties, pass them out to trick-or-treaters, or add it to my own Halloween party food spread!

These popcorn hands are so popular at my house, I make them every year! In fact, if I didn’t put one in each of my kid’s lunchboxes on Halloween, I’d definitely hear an earful after school. I love them because they’re so simple to make. And my kids love them because they’re just plain fun to eat.

I can’t complain about making these adorable treats every year because they’re just so easy to make. And the simplest part about this no bake Halloween recipe is that they can be made with just two ingredients.

All you need to whip up your own popcorn hand snacks is:

• Popcorn: When I make these, sometimes I buy a bag or premade popcorn or and other times, I pop my own. And since any type or flavor of popcorn will work, I have even made my own caramel corn in spooky Halloween colors and turned them into witch hand popcorn treats!
• Candy corn: This ingredient is optional, but I like to add a piece of candy corn at the tip of each finger to make them look like fingernails.

In addition to the ingredients, you’ll also need plastic gloves to create this snack. I recommend using large food handling gloves instead of smaller plastic gloves because the popcorn fits better in the fingers.

How to Make Popcorn Hands

To make the popcorn hand, I start by putting the candy corn into each finger to act as the fingernail. I like to turn the candy corn sideways inside the fingers of the glove so they fill out the entire bottom of the fingers.

After I add the candy corn to each fingertip, I start sliding popcorn pieces into each finger. I try to work carefully when adding the popcorn to the fingers to keep it from breaking.

After all the fingers are full, Istuff some popcorn into the rest of the glove until the popcorn hand is full, then tie it off with a cute ribbon.

That’s it! Not only is this Halloween treat so simple to make, but my kids just love them! I’ve made them for several parties and sports events and they’re a big hit every time!

Popcorn Hand Ideas

Since these Summerween party treats are one of the easiest recipes I make all season, I love to change things up each time I make them. These substitutions are a fun way to create cute Halloween treats with out too much extra effort.

• Use any type of snack to fill the gloves. Popcorn is our favorite snack for these treats, but any small snack will work to create your own Halloween hands. Try using Goldfish crackers, mini candy bars, or pretzel sticks in place of the popcorn.
• Try different candy “fingernails.” I know candy corn isn’t everyone’s favorite candy. Luckily, I have found a few options for creating fingernails for your hands without the use of those chewy Halloween treats. Try adding M&Ms, Reese’s Pieces, Skittles, Hershey’s Kisses, or Dots.

Storage Instructions

One of my favorite things about this easy recipe is that you can make them ahead of time! Assemble the popcorn hands up to two days in advance. Just make sure to seal the bag tightly with your ribbon to keep the popcorn from getting stale.
