Paper Plate Easter Craft
Your kids will have a blast making this adorable decorated Easter egg out of a paper plate. And the best part is that you can quickly and easily put it together with just two craft supplies!

Since you only need a couple of simple craft supplies, you probably already have everything you need to put this spring craft project together right now. Here’s what you’ll need to make your own Easter egg paper plate craft:
- White paper plate: Any size paper plate will work with this fun craft, but we used the smaller, six-inch plates to create our Easter eggs.
- Washi tape: Add colorful decorations to your paper plate Easter eggs with the help of washi tape. Pastel washi tape is a great way to decorate your paper plates to give them a cute Easter look.
In addition to these craft supplies, you’ll also need a pair of kid-friendly scissors to turn your round paper plate into an egg.
How to Make a Paper Plate Easter Egg
You won’t believe how easy it is to turn a plain paper plate into an adorable Easter egg! Just follow these quick instructions to help your kids create their very own eggs at home.

Start by placing a piece of washi tape along the center of the plate. You can let the edges overhang. The rough edges won’t matter because your kids will be trimming the plate after all the washi tape has been added.

Continue adding different strips of washi tape to the plate. Try to vary the patterns and colors to give the plate the look of a decorated Easter egg. Keep adding tape until the entire plate is covered from top to bottom.

Once the plate is decorated, your kids can use their scissors to trim the edges of the plate. This will help transform the plate from a round circle into an egg-shaped oval.

Decorate your plate with paint, markers, or crayons. Using washi tape is a quick and easy way to add Easter decorations to your plate. But if you don’t have any tape on hand, you can let your kids get creative by decorating their paper plates with paint, markers or crayons instead.
Make it with paper. I love using a paper plate for this craft because it’s a little more sturdy than regular paper. But if you don’t have any plates on hand, you can also use paper to create your Easter Eggs. Start by laying the washi tape on the paper to create your Easter design. The cut out an egg shape from the paper to create an Easter egg.
