Today is my son’s last day of second grade! I can’t believe how fast this school year went. At the end of each school year, I make a handmade gift for teacher to celebrate the school year. Giving the gift of food is a great way to show your child’s teacher you care. That’s why I love this cute handmade gift for teacher! It’s an adorable gift in a jar they can share with their whole family. And in addition to being cute and delicious — it’s also really easy to make!

Make the Monster Cookie Mix

The first step to making this simple end of year handmade gift for teacher is to make the cookie mix. This mix is for monster cookies, which are delicious and gluten free! The cookie mix is super simple to make. Start by pouring 2 1/4 cups oats in the bottom of the jar. If you want to make sure this recipe is gluten free, be sure to use gluten free oats!

After the oats, pour in half a cup of M&Ms, half a cup of chocolate chips, and 1/2 cup brown sugar. After pouring in the brown sugar, your jar will probably be full. To make room for the final 1/2 cup of sugar, use a spoon to pack the brown sugar into an even layer. Then, add the white sugar to the top.

Grab a piece of your favorite scrapbook paper and cut out a backing for the card. The easiest way to do this is to secure the card to the paper, leaving a quarter-inch boarder on the top and side. Then, cut the paper one quarter inch from the bottom and opposite side.

Finally, place the round jar topper on top of your jar and secure it tightly! We don’t want any of that delicious cookie mix to spill out of your handmade gift for teacher!
