The first step to creating these fun Oreo treats is to melt the orange chocolate. Start by adding the orange chocolate wafers to a microwave safe bowl and melt them according to the package instructions.

After the chocolate is melted, add a stem to each of your Oreos! Carefully slide a pretzel stick into the center of both cookies, making sure not to push to hard because you’ll break your cookies!

Then, place one Oreo on a fork and hold the fork over the melted orange chocolate. Use a spoon to drizzle the chocolate over the top of the cookie until it’s fully covered. Make sure to avoid covering the stem in chocolate!

Once the cookie is coated, lightly tap the handle of the fork on the side of the bowl to knock off any extra chocolate. Then, transfer the coated cookie to a piece of parchment paper to cool and harden.

Once the orange chocolate is set, melt the green chocolate pieces according to the package instructions. After that, transfer the melted green chocolate to a piping bag and use scissors to cut off the very tip of the bag to create a small hole.

Use the piping bag to pipe a small leaf shape next to the pretzel stem. Then, draw a swirl of green chocolate over the top of each cookie to make a vine.

Allow the chocolate vines and leaves to harden completely before serving.

These simple serving ideas and decorating suggestions are a great way to adapt this fall recipe to suit your party’s theme or your guest’s preferences. Try these ideas the next time you make your own party treats:

  • Add some coconut oil to the melting wafers. If it seems like your orange or green chocolate is a little too thick, try mixing in some coconut oil. You’ll only need around one teaspoon of oil to help thin out the chocolate. Add it to the chocolate while it’s still hot, then stir to mix the oil in before decorating.
  • Use them as party favors. These sweet snacks make the perfect party favors! Add them to your Thanksgiving favor bags for a fun snack the kids will love.
  • Add paper straws. Turn your pumpkin Oreo cookies into Oreo pops with the help of paper straws. Cut your straws in half, then flatten the top of each straw with your fingers. Carefully slide the straw into the filling inside the Oreos before dipping them in chocolate.

How Do You Store Chocolate Covered Pumpkin Oreos?

These fun treats are perfect for making ahead because they keep for a long time! You can store your chocolate covered Oreos in an airtight container for up to one week. Make sure to place a piece of parchment paper between the layers in your container to keep them from sticking together!

But if you plan on making them for a party, I wouldn’t suggest prepping them more than a day in advance. The longer they sit, the higher the chances that your green chocolate will start to bleed into the orange chocolate. And the pretzel sticks may start to become stale the longer they sit.
