How Do You Play New Years Pictionary?
One of the best things about playing Pictionary at your party is that it’s easy to set-up. You don’t need any special game boards — just a few simple supplies to put it together, including:
- Printable New Year’s Eve Pictionary prompts (keep reading to see how to download yours)
- Hat or bowl to hold the prompts
- Paper or dry erase board
- Drawing tools (pens, pencils, markers, etc.)
Once you have all your supplies gathered up, it’s time to start playing! To play New Year’s Eve Pictionary, just follow these simple instructions:
- Print out the game prompts. Follow the instructions below for downloading and printing your own NYE Pictionary cards for your game. I suggest printing them on cardstock so they’re a little sturdier than regular paper. That way, you can play over and over again!
- Cut out all the prompts. Use scissors to cut out each prompt around the outer border. After that, fold each prompt strip in half and place all the pieces in a bowl or hat.
- Separate into teams. To start playing, first separate your party group into equal teams. You’ll need at least two members on each team, but the more the better!
- Take turns drawing out the clues. Each team will select one person to be the artist for that round. The artist selects a prompt from the bowl, then sets a timer. They must then draw out the clue and the rest of the team tries to guess the answer before the time runs out.
- Keep score. If a team correctly guesses the answer before the time is up, they get a point. The team with the most points after all the prompts have been used wins!
Don’t forget to have a prize ready for the winner of the game! It could be a small favor bag, trophy, or little gift to reward the victor at the end of the game.
