Halloween Dip Recipe

The base of this dip is a simple taco dip made with a few easy ingredients. You can mix up this delicious dip in a matter of minutes, making it perfect for any Halloween get together.

To make this easy Halloween taco dip, you’ll need:

  • Ground beef
  • Onion
  • Taco seasoning
  • Diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • Velveeta cheese
  • Sour cream
  • Corn chips

You can also add some beans to your dip if you like them. Kidney beans or chili beans both make great additions to this easy taco dip recipe!

But before you start making your Halloween dip, why not make some fun Halloween chips to go with it? It’s so easy to make your own corn chips at home! To turn them into Halloween chips, grab a few different Halloween cookie cutters. Cut out the shapes for your corn tortillas. Then, spray a large baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Place the cut-out tortillas in a single layer on your baking sheet, then spray each of the chips with cooking spray. Sprinkle a little bit of salt over the top of the chips then bake them at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, until crisp.

While the chips are baking you can start making your dip. Grab a large skillet and brown your ground beef. Add in the chopped onion and cook until the meat is cooked through. Then, sprinkle your taco seasoning over the top of the ground beef.

Add the diced tomatoes with chilies, along with the juice inside the can, and stir all the ingredients to coat. The juice will add moisture to the mixture, which means there’s no need to add water to the pan, as instructed by the taco seasoning. Stir all the ingredients together and reduce the heat. Give the liquid a chance to simmer and reduce for a few minutes.

When the liquid has reduced, add the Velveeta cheese. It’s a good idea to cube the cheese before adding it to the pan so it melts more quickly and evenly. Continue stirring the cheese until it’s fully melted and all the ingredients are well mixed.

Spider Web Dip

Now that your Halloween dip is ready to serve, it’s time to start decorating! Grab your serving bowl and pour the cheese dip into the bowl. Then, prepare your cream by adding it to a piping bag. You can also use a zip-top bag with the corner cut off to create your sour cream spider web.

To make the spiderweb, start by creating a cross through the center of the bowl. Then, add an X over the top of the cross. Finish by drawing circles around the bowl, starting in the circle and working your way outward.

To add to the creepiness of your Halloween dip recipe, place a plastic spider on top of the dip. Just be sure to wash it first!

By this time, your chips should be nice and crispy. Pull them out of the oven and add them to your serving plate to complete your Halloween snack!
