Making your own gluten free pizza rolls is so simple! All you need are a few simple ingredients, your favorite pizza toppings, and a few minutes of your time!
Are Pizza Rolls Gluten Free?
Unfortunately, pizza rolls that you buy at the store are not gluten free. But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy eating pizza rolls at home if you can’t eat gluten! Keep reading to learn how to make your own gluten free pizza rolls at home.
How to Make Gluten Free Pizza Rolls
The first step to making this easy gluten free pizza rolls recipe is to mix up the dough. I made this recipe super simple by using prepackaged gluten free pizza dough. I used Simple Truth Gluten Free Pizza Crust mix from Kroger and it was delicious. But any gluten free pizza dough would work for this recipe.
After you have prepared your dough, roll it out until it’s around 1/4 inch thin. Then, begin cutting the dough into rectangles to create your pizza rolls. Cut out as many rectangles as you can, then knead the scraps together and reroll the dough. Continue cutting out rectangles until all the dough has been used.
When your pizza roll dough is ready, start adding your toppings. I decided to make combination pizza rolls, which are made with pepperoni and sausage. I also added a small spoonful of pizza sauce to each pizza roll.
When all your pizza rolls have been filled, add a pinch of cheese to the top of each topping. Make sure to gather the cheese into a small pile to keep it from falling out as you put your pizza rolls together.
To create your pizza rolls, fold the other half of the pizza dough rectangle over the top of the toppings. Be careful when you fold the dough to keep it from cracking! After the dough has been folded over the top. Press the edges together with your fingers to secure them in place.
Bake the pizza rolls according to the instructions on your pizza dough package, making sure to check on them every once in a while to ensure they’re not burning. When your pizza rolls are golden brown, remove them from the oven and allow them to rest on the pan for a few minutes before eating them.
Gluten Free Pizza Roll Tips
This simple gluten free recipe really is easy to make. But with these tips, you’ll end up with the most delicious weeknight dinner without any problems at all!
- Chill your pizza dough before rolling. Even if the package of pizza dough you’re using doesn’t include chilling the dough in its instructions, do it! It not only improves the flavor of the dough, but it also makes it easier to roll the dough. Chill the dough for at least one hour or up to overnight for best results.
- Use gluten free flour when rolling your dough. Gluten free pizza dough is very sticky, so you’ll need plenty of gluten free flour when attempting to roll your dough. Start by kneading the dough on floured surface, then sprinkle flour over the top of the dough before you start rolling. Continue sprinkling flour over the dough as you roll to keep it from sticking.
- Use mini pepperoni. Mini pepperoni are the perfect size for these pizza rolls! But if you can’t find any mini pepperoni at your store, simply cut your pepperoni slices into smaller pieces before adding them to the gluten free pizza rolls.

I am going to try this this weekend. I am wondering if they would freeze well so I can make extra.
I haven’t tried freezing the pizza rolls, but the dough freezes well, so I think they’d be fine!
