These adorable mini pumpkins came from Dollar Tree! And since I already had paint and black vinyl at home, that means I only spent $3 to create these adorable Rae Dunn pumpkins!

DIY Farmhouse Fall Decor
These adorable mini pumpkins make great DIY farmhouse fall decor. In addition to being the perfect addition to the rest of your fall decorating, these cute neutral pumpkins are also cheap and easy to make.
To make your own DIY fall farmhouse decor, you’ll just need a handful of simple craft supplies, including:
- Mini glass pumpkins
- White chalk paint
- Paintbrush
- Black vinyl
- Rae Dunn inspired cut file
- Cutting machine
I found these adorable glass pumpkins at Dollar Tree, but you can use any type of pumpkin for this fun craft! To make the words for my fall pumpkin craft, I used my Cricut Explore Air 2.
To make your own DIY farmhouse fall decor, start by painting your mini pumpkins. Any type of paint will do for this craft, but I love white using chalk paint when creating my own DIY farmhouse decor. The matte finish is perfect for creating a rustic look for all your crafts.

After giving your pumpkins a few coats of white chalk paint, it’s time to add the vinyl! Give your pumpkins a chance to dry while you cut out the words you’ll be using for your DIY fall farmhouse decor.
To make your own Rae Dunn mini pumpkins, you’ll need to start by downloading my free decal SVG file. The printable includes a variety of Rae Dunn inspired words for your mini pumpkins. To get your own, simply subscribe to my email list, cut the words with your favorite cutting machine, and apply them to your painted pumpkins.

After downloading the SVG file, upload it into Design Space. After loading the SVG, you’ll notice that each letter of each word is a separate element. When you have decided which words you want to use for your DIY fall farmhouse pumpkins, use your mouse to select all the letters of the word, then group them together with the group function in the upper right corner.
Next, resize the words to fit on your pumpkins. If you’ll be using the mini pumpkins from Dollar Tree, the words should be around 1 to 1.5 inches tall to fit on the front of each pumpkin. Otherwise, measure the space on the front of your pumpkin to determine how tall your words should be. Then, resize the word to fit the space.
When all your words have been resized, weld each word together to tell your Cricut that the letters should be cut in sequence. To weld your words, select the word, then click “weld” at the bottom right corner. Repeat the process for each word.
Now that all your words are ready to cut, you can send your files to your Cricut! Place the correct size piece of vinyl on your cutting mat, load the mat, and set the machine to the vinyl setting. Then, send the file to your machine to cut.
After the words are cut, weed the extra vinyl from around each word. I love using my Cricut weeding tool to help with this! It makes weeding so much easier!
When your words are ready, place a piece of transfer tape over the top of each word, then cut out the words to remove any extra transfer tape and backing from around the word. Press the transfer tape into the vinyl to ensure it’s stuck, then remove the transfer tape.

Use the transfer tape to transfer the vinyl to your painted Dollar Tree pumpkins. To keep your letters straight while applying them to the pumpkin, it’s a good idea to start with the middle letters and work your way out. I like using the Cricut mat scraper to get the vinyl to stick to the pumpkins, but a credit card also works well for this step.
Continue adding the vinyl words to your pumpkins until you have all your farmhouse pumpkins decorated! You can even add more decorations to your pumpkins by tying some twine bows around the stems of each of your pumpkins before you set them out with the rest of your farmhouse fall decor!

Emily is a midwestern mom of two boys. She loves all things DIY — from home renovations to kids birthday party planning. Whether she’s making a new farmhouse craft for her home or helping her kids with a cool activity, you can bet she’s in the middle of some kind of DIY project (or three) right now!
I really like this idea for the pumpkins, I was planning on white chalking a few of them down, but I don’t own a cricut, maybe I can find something at the Dollar Tree to put on them.

My Dollar Tree had some letter stickers the last time I was there. I bet you could use those instead! Stamps also work really well for adding lettering!
These are just beautiful. I haven’t got a cricut so I would have to try and hand paint the words on
Emily, your Rae Dunn inspired farmhouse pumpkins are simply too cute!
